Back not too long ago in the very manor he was fighting atop of, when he turned into a ragged animal. While he can't resurrect Cathy, he can fight for her, so as much as it hurts, he grabs onto that animal chained in his heart and breaks it's shackles. The very Lighting storming above Wuthering Heights resonated with the emergence, like Cathy was helping Heathcliff, like Every Cathy was to Erlking. That storm-infused beast stared down the Erlking, no longer Heathcliff, The Heartbroken, but rather Heathcliff, The Determined. And thus, with a barrage of lightning infused strikes, the Erlking fell. and Heathcliff freed himself from the distortion, that Ticking not needed, as the animal inside had the same goal as Heathcliff.
