My dads 6.0 had a similar situation he got a new motor from J&k and they put the valve train out of the old motor with 300,000 miles on it and the motor ended up going down because of that

I as well took my 6.0 to Danny, took him right at 6 months from start to finish and I was told it would be a 2-3 week job. Everytime I showed up they weren’t working and would always come up with some excuse for not getting it back to me. Eventually got it back and it still runs and drives good today but I also had to do quite a bit to get it to its current state. Him and his employees definitely aren’t “top notch” like he says. Won’t be doing business with him again

No a positive note, check out Cory Wigginton at Wiggy’s Garage. He’s a very knowledgeable guy who actually knows what he’s talking about and doing. Also gets jobs done quickly but correctly

J&K engines, they’re taking care of me with a actual built 7.3 I mean built. You should go with them they won’t let you down

That is why no one works on my rig but me. There are many good shops, but I would rather trust myself.

I feel for you man, had a similar experience here in Utah. At least the shop who screwed me is gone.

Those idiots wizz wheeled it. Honestly the best block prep is a 12” Ingersoll board sander with 80 grit paper. That grit gives you the right surface porosity to properly grip the gasket. The 12” sander makes sure you don’t make low spots. Keeping in mind your just removing old gasket and corrosion not milling the head. You also don’t need o rings, fel pro makes a great fire ring design in their gasket. The o rings damage your block.

My son-in-law, works for international the Ford 6.0 L is the VT365 international engine i’m glad to see you using the O-ring heads, but that’s not your problem. Your problem now is the block now, do not trust that engine without proper machining it’s going to grenade and I can pretty much guarantee you that !

That's cool iam trying to decide on what route iam gona go with my 6.0 I had it studded also 4yrs ago and it burping coolest out degas bottle all roads point to headgaskets again so iam actually thinking about a long block I have 230 thounds miles on it and it's still a solid truck wish I could send you a picture same color as yours totally feel bummed for you also I was thinking of sending you some of my product to try on your truck if your interested hope to see to 6.o back on the road

Brother, I have all bad luck from shops with the dually, and it's been sitting for a while. We literally have only driven 20 times. The rest of the time it's been a shop or in my yard

Nowdays the good shops know that you need to o-ring the heads when do a new head gasket. And to check that the block is perfectly flat and not bowed at all. That sucks dude!

Yeah man sadly when running a business there will be some negative reviews that’s inevitable. Once my truck was in a million pieces though hands are kinda tied. & thru the process I became what I thought was friends with the owner. But yessir you do live and learn. I’m just thankful I never paid him anything. Onto fixing it the right way. Thanks for watching !

Due to machine shop mistakes so it’s almost back together now. Question, what are you doing with a year old fuel? Are you going to flush at all or just run it?

that sucks. i’m sure you could’ve done a better job yourself. i did my whole motor including bottom end. by myself the first time and it hasn’t pushed coolant or leaked a drop of oil yet. and there’s not a single question about what’s in that engine. the shop did the same thing to the previous owner that happened to you. was a huge letdown to find stock parts when there was supposed to be the best of the best in it

I am 100% confident had I done it myself I would’ve had it done quicker & every single bolt would be torqued to spec. Also a lot cleaner work environment. I cannot tell you how nasty the oil and ipr and oil screens were from my motor just sitting open inside his shop for so long. It’s sad really. It’s back together and running fine now but does have a small oil leak I have to address. Not to mention the 2 fuel leaks , 1 boost leak , & trans leak I’ve had to fix. Not to mention him putting a junk converter in my trans and roasting my transmission. Lmao.

Well , it was free. & I offered to pay multiple times but the whole free ordeal was offered by him. He was actually the most recommended place here locally, some how. It wasn’t anything to do with saving money , he was supposedly “the best” 6.0 mechanic around here. Until he turned into a con man. Lol.

Justin you mentioned j&k why didn’t you go to them I’m in Illinois and I got fucked by a shop here spent more then I bought the truck for and never fixed my truck was tired of dumping money and dealing with scum bag shops and mechanics so I decided to purchase a motor I found j@k on the diesel podcast and I called them up brother and hands down they took care of me like I was family did a hole block a few goodies and man my rig runs your truck is apart of your channel and content I say fuck the shop and bash Um period

This was completely free. So I haven’t lost out any money just time. & while yes time is money I’ve not had my truck for a while and that sucks. Thankfully I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with my son anyway so I’ve enjoyed the small break from KZread anyway. There are some good things that come from the bad. At this point financially I could still purchase a brand new J&K engine no worries & run it. & financially it wouldn’t be any different had I done that in the first place. But everything happens for a reason & that will be what I do probably if this engine goes out.

I’d contact Warren Diesel. I had a great experience with them getting a new trans in my truck. After they put in my new one they figured out my flex plate was bad and took the new one back off and gave me a new one without charging me and paid for me to stay at a hotel another night since I had pulled my truck 8 hours to let them do it and I would do it over 100 times again.

It's just a damn engine....buy another one!! Don't let this slow you down .... Keep this in perspective......THIS IS WHAT A LOT OF 6.0 OWNERS GO THROUGH... You are no different 💯💯💯💯... My suggestion..buy a two post lift and "hire " a well known 6.0 guy to work on it at home.. you don't need to drop it off at a shop... That's old thinking..

Spending money to trash the engine?? At this point just throw in a Honda Civic engine so you can actually drive it for more then a few weeks!

One of the reasons why I work on my own stuff you’re not supposed to use any kind of flat wheel on the block or heads. Gouging and scratching basically caused those head gaskets to fail. Shouldn’t take that long. Taking that long what in the hell did he do but I can pretty much guarantee you that’s why those head gaskets failed. He ruined the block. Well I shouldn’t say ruined. I’d be pulling that engine out, completely tearing it down and decking the block or it’s gonna do it again I guarantee you that stone lol trust me know my friend pulled out of the truck I guarantee you it’s going to do it again that block needs to be decked machined Like I said one of the reasons why I do my own work on my own truck everybody I find, especially with a 6.0 will try to bend you over sideways and shove it up your ass horizontal just saying. Lol
