Excellent. Very nice job. There are guys that will drive 2 days and 2500 miles out taking their rig to an excellent mechanic they TRUST and is proven excellent for serious problems or a badass rebuild.
Excellent tutorial on air testing via the ipr port. Thank you for the tips on passenger side access, torque sequences, and special tools. Is is very valuable to know the high pressure oil rail nipples do bleed air while they fill up with oil after a repair.
I just want to thank you. I have a good scanner that shows me all the things you said to look at. I bought a non running e350 with low miles. The previous owner had replaced the ipr for some reason and the van was cranking but not starting. I had glossed over the ipr being good until you showed how to look at the pressure. I was only getting 350 psi of oil pressure during cranking, everything else looked good. So I found the old ipr in the van and cleaned it real good and put it back in and the van fired right up makes 1300+ psi of oil pressure. Thank you so much.
Killed it ..torque values ..the tightening sequence ..tips and tricks ..tools needed ..what to look for when removing ..and replacing ..5 star in my book ..thank you for the info I am going to start on mine tom..it don’t start as well ..

Goodnight. I have already made the necessary repairs for the DTCs I had. Today I removed the oil, it's very thin and dirty (I believe that could be it), I removed the oil pressure regulator (it was very dirty) tomorrow I'm going to change the oil and put in 15w40 and check the pressure. I sent you a video on your Instagram. Thank you for your help.
Another good one…by the way I replaced my cam sensor with a ford one and so far that cured the problem.

I did that same job last year and I did both sides and found that I had Dorman parts that failed in my.6.0 make sure you buy motor craft or Standard brand and it takes about ten minutes of solid cranking to start the motor,good luck wish I was with you.
@AutomedicGarage

Yea I only use motorcraft parts as mentioned and it doesn’t take 10 min of cranking to start any of these unless you have a weak hpop or other leaks in your hpop system. Several 20 sec cranking intervals is all it takes with these. Did a hpop on 03 yesterday and it took 3 20 sec cranking intervals. Thanks for watching.

Goodnight. I discovered the defect in the F 350 6.0, the car's fish tank was clogged, a lot of dirt, the oil was very bad too. I'm cleaning everything to make it work.

Regarding the replacement of the pump, it was leaking air. I took the opportunity and replaced the seals too, but it didn't work lol...

I usually buy the reman FICM from Full Force Diesel
Now yeah got her sealed up tight and trucks makin 4000psi first time in prob over a yr will probably be back in a few weeks for a stc fitting and another injector or 2. LOL With fall comin and cooler mornings im sure stiction issues will be popping up from running on that chunky vintage oil while that ficm maybe on its way out voltage dropped to 45v
@AutomedicGarage
Жыл бұрын
I contribute the voltage drop to some shady old batteries. But yes STC fitting could bring not updated already and the old oil sure didn’t help with the life of the injectors. I preach to all my customers of 3k mile oil changes and arch oil additive or rev X if it’s already having Stockton issues. Truck ran great and strong and has no other current issues. Thanks for watching.

What are your PIDS and fuel pressure. Gotta have some numbers to work with.
After being in a “shop” ran by a former ford mechanic, mine tries to crank and sometimes just doesn’t do anything. I’m at a loss.
Hi, I love your videos so a little bit of air through the oil rails is OK after replacing dummy plugs and standpipes and nipple cup seals, and injector O-rings how long does it usually take before all the air is pushed out of the high-pressure oil system thank you love your content.
@AutomedicGarage
Жыл бұрын
You should get no air from dummy plugs or stand pipes however it is normal to get some air from upper injector oring @ nipple cup. I try to fill the top of the injectors with some fresh oil, A) because it helps slightly with priming the system and B) the high pressure system is designed to “hold” oil pressure not air and that’s why you typically have a “little” air leaking at the upper injector oring. I say a little because if it’s more that hissing and really blowing air you have a problem. As far as priming the system it’s typically 3 15-20 sec cranking cycles to get it to hit or at least start trying. Hope that helps.
Any guesses on what’s causing a rich exhaust smell at idle on a ford 2v v10? All usual suspects have been checked or replaced. No codes or cel. Vehicle is a 2000 f250. Truck runs great other than a stinky exhaust smell at idle. No obvious drop in mpg 🤷🏻♂️

Clogged cat or vacuum leaks or possible dirty/stuck injector
@stevejones4739
Жыл бұрын
@@AutomedicGarage thanks. Just had the cat off while redoing the exhaust. It was clear, I could see through it. I’ll try until lugging a injector one at a time to see if rom changes. Probably is a vacuum leak somewhere. The usual culprit is the one under the throttle body that goes to the pcv. Cheers 👍🏼

I have a 6.0 crank no start. Ficm power 48v drops to 47.5 while cranking. Healthy 1400-1500 icp, ipr is 20-30% when cranking. I’m missing ficm sync, receipts show cam position sensor was replaced last year, pigtail too and a new/used pcm. What are my next steps?

Gotta find why there’s no sync. Crank and cam sensors aren’t that common for going bad it’s usually something to do with wiring.

There's a tool that can remove the stand pipe without removing the rail?
@AutomedicGarage
Жыл бұрын
I’ve seen pics of a homemade tool, it involves a hose and a threaded piece rod that you tighten up and it expands the hose inside the top of the lower portion of the standpipe and creates enough friction to pull the lower portion out. I haven’t explored the idea and tried to make one yet however.
@gurubryant
Жыл бұрын
It seems like not removing the high-pressure oil rail means not having to deal with rushing all the air back out of your system. Short term problem but Tinsley better fix.
I have great oil pressure and great fuel pressure but won't start until I shoot a little ether in it then it fires up and runs great until you cut it off. What's your thoughts 🤔

If FICM does t communicate with injectors what is the problem?

Means you don’t have sync. Could be a bad FICM if your main power is low, possible wiring harness issue, cam/crank sensor wiring or sensor problem. They all have to communicate together for everything to be happy.
