    The beam pattern on the wall though won't necessarily represent what some of us want to see. I'm interested to see what the illumination pattern is like at 100ft and sides.

    This is a great comparison for the models. However...I would have liked to have seen some outside beam shots. All at the same height. You really cant tell much about a lights beam pattern up against a wall. Thats only good for aiming. Because based on this, the Chinese unit sure as heck looked pretty good. Sure it looked focused on the wall, but 2' off the ground, that bright spot is going to spread. I was on the Trucklite bandwagon for a bit, but they are kind of disappointing compared to others. Im all for USA made products. But for the price, the Chinese model is pretty attractive.

    Hello Headlight Revolution team. Would it be possible to do a short video for us classic car guys with the 7 inch sealed beams. Would love to know your suggestions for what LED headlights to put in maybe a Autopal or Hella 7 inch semi-sealed H4 housing ? We are mostly concerned with keeping the stock look of the glass housing but need better illumination and hopefully with sharp lines maybe a "CSP" type LED bulb ? Thank you !!!

    This is a great video that has helped me very much. I've been considering upgrading the headlights on my '95 Jeep Wrangler. There's so much stuff out there that making an informed decision is difficult. I've seen all the led conversion bulbs that are used inside a halogen reflector etc and I've tried those with other vehicles. Anyway, thanks to this video, I have now ordered the JW Speaker 5X7's. They seem to be the best. You get what you pay for. Price for the JWS units are now down to a little over $200 each now. I'll try to post my results later. Thanks for the time and effort making this video.

    I don't understand the fitment issue with the wires out the rear doesn't make any sense to me. The bulbs that these replace have the 3 prong plugs right there anyhow, and most housings I've seen, this area is open. The 8900 with the wire off the side looks like the pigtail would be nearly too short to connect to the vehicle's plug.

    Yes the arc above the line, which cut-offs do not have, is very good for signs on the road. My second biggest peeve with cut-offs is the lack of seeing signs clearly at a distance. My first of course is it looks like someone is flashing their high beams to oncoming traffic every little bump in the road.

I checked all youtube videos, and it seems the EVolution 2 has a wider beam, but the Evolution (older one) has better and smoother distribution. • @HeadlightRevolution

    @HeadlightRevolution

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Philip Gragg Sorry, there is no way to make the high and low beam function come on at the same time on any JW Speaker light. JW Speaker has specifically designed there lights not to operate this way to stay within DOT standards. Especially on the Evo 2 there is no way to make the High and Low come on at the same time. If you've seen a JW Speaker looking light operating this way it was either a knock of or it was modified to do so. If you want a light where the high and low can come on at the same time, take a look at the Vision X Vortex LED headlight. Vision X will soon be coming out with a 5X7 LED headlight like that Vortex Headlight that can use the High-Four adapter to run the high and low beam at the same time.

    Awesome video! I have a jeep jk and I have a question about aftermarket foglight options. I saw the video you made, and clearly the JWS 6145 were the best. I have heard of people using Rigid's duallies as their fog lights with the adapter kit that you guys sell. I was wondering if you would suggest that or JWS's 6145 since their about the same price. Also if I use duallies will I have a problem with flickering and finally will it be a hassle to have them triggered by my factory fog light switch. And yes I know the duallies aren't street legal. thanks!

  • @HeadlightRevolution

    @HeadlightRevolution

    9 жыл бұрын

    Kennedy A Thanks Kennedy A! Any time you replace the fog lights on a newer Jeep JK with LED's you are going to run into a flickering issue, no matter what brand you use. That is why we offer the fog light anti-flicker harness. You can use the Rigid Dually's with our adapter set, that will work, but the JW Speaker 6145's are going to be brighter, and the kit already comes with the adapters that you need. and the brackets if you need them for the metal X bumper. Also, if you plug the aftermarket fog lights into the factory fog light harness with the proper anti-flicker adapters it should work just fine. So in conculsion, the Rigid Dually's are a good option but the 6145's are what I would recommend for you. Let me know if you need any further help, thanks!

    Headlight Revolution Thanks!! I'm just a bit confused on why you're saying that the JWS 6145's will be brighter because they're about 1,000 raw lumens whereas the dually d2s are about 3,000. I would get the JWS but it seems to me that the rigid are theoretically 3x as bright. Please explain. thanks!

  • @HeadlightRevolution

    @HeadlightRevolution

    9 жыл бұрын

    Kennedy A Those do seem pretty bright, and those are always a option for you. The reason that I say that the JW's are brighter is from our testing that we have done here in house. JW Speaker is the best in the industry. You can't really trust the Lumen numbers that company's slap onto their products, that is just a theoretical light output number. You still have to account for the optics, the hardware, and the thermal management that has been engineered into these products. If you watch a few of our videos, Chris does a great job explaining this. He talks about this in a few videos like this one: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZyNqLuQfsyzkbA.html We have seen Chinese lights that have a way higher lumen number on the box, then you compare them to the JW Speaker product that they tried to copy that has a realistic/correct/lower lumen number on them, and sure enough the JW Speaker light is way brighter. We have seen this many, many times! And the lumens aren't the only thing that you want to go by when you are researching lights either, the true light comparisons that should be compared are the Lux and Candela. The lumens are usually just an exaggerated number, of how much light the LED is supposed to put out. The Lux is the actual measurement of the light at a certain distance, and the candela is the whole measurement of the beam pattern at each distance as far as the light reaches depending on what housing the light is in. Let me know if you need any further assistance? Thanks

    It depends on which specific one you'd like to go with, but we can ship to Myanmar no problem! The easiest way to find out the shipping costs is to add the items to your cart and start the checkout process. Once you enter in your shipping info, it will show you all of the shipping options and the prices.

    The tech for LEDs as vehicular applications is still not solid. For a replacement lamp housing 4-5 LEDs the draw is too much. A power supply at 12v can easily push qt 60 5500 white LEDs drawing only 1.6 amps. This tells me these lights are way underpowered causing the power supply to fail rather quickly. This is only postponed with heatsinks and fans. LEDs are water resistant them selves, the components are not. Housing the components in a sealed structure will cause them to overheat. A weep hole is necessary for venting and condensation removal, this once again making the components prone to water damage. Maybe wait another year or two before spending 300.00 for one lamp. Just my opinion in the field of lighting.

    FWIW: Lumens, pattern on a wall, it all means nothing. You NEED to see both low beam and high beam on a street with markers on the sides to indicate how far the light goes down the road. Without that, you still don't know what you're getting until you mount it all. 'Totally insane' doesn't help me know what the headlight actually lights up down the road.

    *Some people want to see what they look like on the road. Understand that the wall shots are perfect to look at if you have experience in head light beams and understand directing light arrays, refraction and prism anomalies of different manufacturing patents. First make sure your car is at 90 degrees to the wall from rear bumper to front. Live Road shots have too many variables of what the background can be like and degrees of surface material reflectance - this leads to a average blank slate, another words it could be anything. We are concentrating on beams of light, not the many different lays of the land. So if you drive from west Texas which is almost all desert and you get into east Texas which is quite GREEN with foilage of bushes and trees, or that of populated areas with only housing, or say winter arrives and its mostly snow on the ground - are you going to swap out your head lights at the nearest AUTOZONE? Nope ! So, concentrate on the light beam on the wall only when looking at head lights. Dont blind the on coming driver. Keep the low beams 95% to the right of the crown road center line and at the crest line and below , Keep the high beams corresponding with the low in a way that they go 1/3 to 1/2 over the crest of the road above the horizon mark*

    Chris, you do an excellent job in all of these videos. But you seem really biased against any products made in China, and J.W.Speaker can do no wrong?!? For instance, why do you keep referring to every generic light in all of HR videos as "the cheap Chinese knock-off", instead of just saying "the generic brand". Okay, yes!!! The generic brand is not as good, but we are all aware that you get what you pay for. It's insulting and disrespectful to those who only have $100 to spend on a pair of LED headlights, rather than having to pay 6x as much - and I don't think J.W.Speaker is 6x as good. Chris, I'm just asking for you to be a bit more fair and unbiased. For goodness sake, you have a Toyota Tacoma as your test truck.

    Hi Rodwell, yes we are biased because we appreciate high quality items, made in the USA, that require some ingenuity to bring to market. JW Speaker designed the style of light and optic that all the "cheap Chinese knock-offs" use. We call them that because they bought a JW Speaker light, re-engineered it, and made it in the least expensive way possible. It's not a figure of speech, it's quite literal. They are cheap, they are Chinese made, and they are a knock-off of a JW Speaker light. The reason we call them generic is because all these companies that sell them get them from the same manufacturers! Companies like Oracle Lighting, Genssi,, Nightsun, and a thousand other companies all take the same catalog from China, slap their brand on it and claim it's new and improved... blah blah blah, yada yada yada... the reality is they all are selling something designed on the backs of the American workers at JW Speaker in Wisconsin! We can respect a product from China that is a unique design, but when someone just steals someone else's idea, then makes it cheaper, there's no tolerance for that. Furthermore, where would all these knock-off headlights be if JW Speaker didn't spend millions of dollars inventing the technology in the first place? It's not OK to support thieves at the expense of creators. I think the more we embrace the knock-offs, the more market share we take away from the originals, and the worse off our own automotive aftermarket will be in the future. I mean, by buying the knock-off headlight you're literally removing incentive from JW Speaker to make a new product. If some guy in China is just going to copy it in 4 months, why spend all the time making something new?? You know? I understand that you can buy 3 or 4 of the cheap ones for each JW Speaker product, but at what cost to your country, the automotive aftermarket, and the quality of your own project build? I prefer to know that I've got the real deal on my vehicle, made by American workers, and the performance, beam pattern and light output is the best in the world. Also, a new Toyota Tundra costs $40-$60,000. It's not like it's some piece of junk vehicle that you should feel bad about investing money into, even as an import... Thank you for your input and I do understand your point of view, but we're passionate about supporting those who support the automotive lighting industry by introducing new products for the world to benefit from. We will never support a product that comes from a heritage of stealing someone else's design.

    Headlight Revolution I don't live in America so I don't give a shit about all that "made in USA, protect our jobs" bullshit. The US product is simply overpriced. I'd also be surprised if it's not made in China, or at least some of the components anyway! It's about value for money and the overpriced US made items don't offer that.
