5TH GEN GL1800 SLOW MOVING VALVE

Комедия

This is an example of an extreemly "slow moving valve" caused from old, sticky, gas on a 5th gen GoldWing. It's important to know that a slow moving valve can move fast enough to pass a compression test (300 rpms), but it may not have time to fully close at idle (700 rpms), or at higher rpms.

I found this very helpful. I'm looking for videos on checking valve clearance for a gl1800 5th gen but I haven't found any. I have a ticking noise on mine along with a oil leak on the valve cover gasket...

run a heavy dose of seafoam through the oil (probably a good 8oz or so) for 100-200 miles; that'll free er up

What would cause that, carbon buildup? If so how to you prevent it from happening? Thanks!

It's caused from old sticky fuel. For anyone trying to avoid it, be sure to follow the "storage" instructions in the Owner's Manual.
