IMHO a better comparison would be with 5D Tactical and the 80% Arms Easy Jig Gen2. I wrote my own review and the Gen2 is better for 2 big reasons: 1. Interchangeable between AR-15, AR-9 & 308 in which you use the same pieces without a conversion kit. 5D requires additional pieces. Whereas the Gen2 does not. 2. Measure, mill and no longer swapping pieces. In the case of 5D, you don't swap out templates like the Gen1, but you're still swapping out pins on the routing plate. With the Gen2, you just measure and mill.

Maybe you should do an updated comparison using the new 80 percent arms gen 2 jig.In my opinion the new gen 2 from 80 percent arms is the way to go especially with the vacuum attachment built in.Solid steel 3/4 side plates along with the optional hardened steel hand drill stabilizers makes it so much more efficient.80 percent arms also uses a custom 5/16 end mill turned down to fit in a 1/4 inch collet router. You can buy the combo jig that does AR15, AR9, and .308 lowers as well as their tool kit and the hand drill stabilizers for around $350.00.

I agree!! Time for me to post up some reviews of the Gen II easy jig. I milled 4 lowers, to find that the fire/safety pin hole was oval. You can't see it by the naked eye so much as to when you assemble a lower. Emailed 80% to get some feedback that it's my fault for not using the "drill stabilizers". I was surprised to be blamed, because I followed their instructions AND tutorial video to a "T". The whole reason for my conversation with them in the first place stemmed from a mistapped hole on the 308 side of the mill 'wall'. It wasn't cross threaded, but seemed to be too big and wouldn't allow a bolt to tighten. They are replacing the walls, but told me that's all that they're doing to rectify the issue (of my 4 lowers with an oversized/oval fire/safety pin hole). Customer service is not their specialty.

@@crazydave1145 That's cool. And glad to hear. However, I won't ever do business with them again (speaking solely of 80%)... no matter how many offers I see come through via email. TO blame the customer, for their own issue(s) is something that I'm not happy with. If I was an idiot and caused the issues, no problem I'll own it. But in this case, they are the issue and well, not owning up to anything. I'm off to buy 4 lowers, to move all my hardware over to and I'll be melting the other 4 bad ones (with ovaled hole) in my HOT fire pit. BTW, no free t-shirt here. Not that it would make up for any inconveniences, nor would I wear it. It'd be a shop rag if they sent anything to me. YES... Sour customer here. ;)

The guide pins are extremely soft and will come out on you while you are milling. Also, the bushing in the center of the guide plate will drop right out into your lower sending your mill bit into a dance. They will tell you that it is your fault and that you are responsible. They will then proceed to not return your call or message. $300 down the drain. The other thing they won't tell you is that their jig will only work with their parts and lowers.
