{577} TNY266PN SMPS Have No Output Voltage / Switch Mode Power Supply IC Not Switching, How to Fix

Ғылым және технология

TNY266PN SMPS Switch Mode Power Supply Have No Output Voltage / IC Not Switching, How to Fix no power problem. TNY263P, TNY263G, TNY264P, TNY264G, TNY265P, TNY265G, TNY266P, TNY266G, TNY267P, TNY267G, TNY268P & TNY268G are TinySwitch-II family offline switching smps ICs to drive flyback toplogy, its switching frequency is 132KHz. Features
it Reduces System Cost becasue it uses very minimal components to design the switch mode power supply.
these are fully integrated auto-restart for short circuit and open loop fault
protection - saves external component costs
Built-in circuitry practically eliminates audible noise with ordinary dip-varnished transformer
Programmable line undervoltage detect feature prevents power on/off glitches - saves external components
• Frequency jittering dramatically reduces EMI (~10 dB)
- minimizes EMI filter component costs
• 132 kHz operation reduces transformer size - allows use of EF12.6 or EE13 cores for low cost and small size
• Very tight tolerances and negligible temperature variation on key parameters eases design and lowers cost
• Lowest component count switcher solution
• Expanded scalable device family for low system cost Better Cost/Performance over RCC & Linears
• Lower system cost than RCC, discrete PWM and other integrated/hybrid solutions
• Cost effective replacement for bulky regulated linears
• Simple ON/OFF control - no loop compensation needed
• No bias winding - simpler, lower cost transformer
• Simple design practically eliminates rework in manufacturing EcoSmart™- Extremely Energy Efficient
• No load consumption less than 50 mW with bias winding and less than 250 mW without bias winding at 265 VAC input
• Meets California Energy Commission (CEC), Energy Star, and EU requirements
• Ideal for cell-phone charger and PC standby applications
High Performance at Low Cost
• High voltage powered - ideal for charger applications
• High bandwidth provides fast turn on with no overshoot
• Current limit operation rejects line frequency ripple
• Built-in current limit and thermal protection improves safety Description
TinySwitch™-II integrates a 700 V power MOSFET, oscillator, high voltage switched current source, current limit and thermal shutdown circuitry onto a monolithic device. The start-up and operating power are derived directly from the voltage on thenDRAIN pin, eliminating the need for a bias winding and associated circuitry. In addition, the TinySwitch-II devices incorporate
auto-restart, line undervoltage sense, and frequency jittering. An innovative design minimizes audio frequency components in the simple ON/OFF control scheme to practically eliminate audible noise with standard taped/varnished transformer construction. The fully integrated auto-restart circuit safely limits output power during fault conditions such as output short circuit or open loop, reducing component count and secondary feedback circuitry cost. An optional line sense resistor externally programs a line undervoltage threshold, which eliminates power down glitches caused by the slow discharge of input storage capacitors present in applications such as standby supplies. The operating frequency of 132 kHz is jittered to significantly reduce both the quasi-peak and average EMI, minimizing filtering cost.

Thank you very much for this knowledge and experience. This video speaks to the core problem with startup I am trying to understand with a treadmill PF906 PSU that employs a TOP244YN. The DS says: "When rectified DC high voltage is applied to the DRAIN pin during start-up, the MOSFET is initially off, and the CONTROL pin capacitor is charged through a switched high voltage current source connected internally between the DRAIN and CONTROL pins. When the CONTROL pin voltage VC reaches approximately 5.8 V, the control circuitry is activated and the soft-start begins. The soft-start circuit gradually increases the duty cycle of the MOSFET from zero to the maximum value over approximately 10 ms. If no external feedback/supply current is fed into the CONTROL pin by the end of the soft-start, the high voltage current source is turned off and the CONTROL pin will start discharging in response to the supply current drawn by the control circuitry." Is it correct to say, that to understand the startup process, we need to interpret the waveform diagram of the startup counter, and that the whole process takes place in a very short (

Wouldn't hurt to check R2 and R3 as well, those 1 Meg resistors. Those have a tendency to drift open and that could stop it working too.

  • @HaseebElectronics

    @HaseebElectronics

    2 жыл бұрын

you are exactly right but these don't effect because these are 1M ohm and so large values resistors very very rarely damage, sometimes their resistance may differ slightly but it will remain in limit even if these resistor will open it will not effect because the En pin will float and the ic will fluctuate otherwise it have to start switching

yes dear from the same family group, the higher number can be used, as within the same family group, the switching frequency and Jitter frequency will remain same. and it will work same

@@HaseebElectronics May I ask your kind opinion again, Sir? I have a burnt ic and burnt diode in the snubber circuit as shown in the pictures. The diode probably failed first and the voltage spike during switching killed the ic. Pin 5 is completely blown off. Can you also suggest what else might need replacing based on your experience doing this repair? Or just replacing the ic and diode should be sufficient? Thank you again sir drive.google.com/file/d/1CzZCCSzaEVrU99JNrEyADvzXOZ05S_Ru/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/1CxeYR6gPscCPHCq5m1I6TA8WVcRTU0xz/view?usp=drivesdk drive.google.com/file/d/1CjcqOr9vWuQoknbdZbGzmFDPQKQEqRwE/view?usp=drivesdk
