    Especially considering this trend on Newegg of lumping together 10-15 motherboards under one list item so when people review them, you don't know what boards they're reviewing unless they specifically name them, which doesn't happen very often. That functionality is just gone, now.

    VRM heat is useful, but is that the only thing motherboards do and the only thing left to test?! It's like having a CPU, and only looking at integer and float performance 🤦‍♂ What happened to looking at actual power consumption, cpu performance, pcie performance, ssd controller performance, and usb throughput?!

  • @Puyols37

    @Puyols37

    9 күн бұрын

    @@davidanderson4727 Motherboard temperature directly affects the performance of those components so we can assume the hotter the mobo the worse it will perform in general. Just look at the thermal throttling presented in the graphs.

  • @davidanderson4727

    @davidanderson4727

    7 күн бұрын

    @@Puyols37 That's incorrect. The VRM only affects the CPU performance. Regardless, the overall design of the board and other "enhancements" would also affect cpu performance, such as the manufacturer doing a tiny overclock of the bus. It's a pretty short-sighted review and mostly a waste of time, considering how power can vary so much, and overlooking all aspects of the board, including audio controller, sata and usb controller, pci-e performance, etc.

    Also worth looking at when choosing motherboards is troubleshooting LEDs. Good ones have two 8-digit LEDs, others just give you individual leds for RAM/Power/CPU and you have to go from there. Having no feedback is a no go for me, I don't want to spend hours guessing what is wrong.

    Aww had really hoped the B650MT from biostar was included as it’s probably the cheapest one in my area and I had even asked in an email to HU about how it performed. But of course this is still very impressive the amount of boards tested 😊

    Looking at a picture of it, it seems like it has a very minimal VRM. I also wouldn't buy anything with Biostar in the name, based on previous reviews of their products.

    @@MrHamof In my experience they are hit or miss especially when it comes to memory but it would probably be better than the A620 boards that share that pricepoint no?
