55022 'Royal Scots Grey' tears through Taunton on 'The Mazey Day Cornishman' - 23/06/12
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
BR Class 55 'Detlic' no.55022 'Royal Scots Grey' hauled the Birmingham International - Penzance - Birmingham International tour 'The Mazey Day Cornishman' (1Z55/1Z56). She is seen on the return leg of the tour absolutely flying through Taunton Station, horns a blowing. She had left Plymouth 40 minutes late but by the time she got to us she was only 16 minutes down, which is quite impressive. I was going to put this in with the 37s but after witnessing this it deserves its own video.
Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS60
Enjoy

Ahh wow I really wasn’t expecting it to be at such speed! Brilliant capture. Thanks for sharing
Great video of the 55, doing a mere 93mph to! Excellent.
I've commented before but I have to say again, this is one of the best captures of a Deltic at speed ,awesome power 5*
Sheer magic to see, giving it 95mph through Taunton. Great video, cheers.

Great sound, they can't half move! Great piece of engineering
WOW, the only one i've seen with clean exhaust.

Lovely film sir. I was on board and can tell you that she was doing 95mph in your shot. Quality images, thankyou.
It was an amazing thing to see and hear, the Deltics are fantastic engines =) Thanks for watching & commenting =)
had our heads out at just over 100 in the rain, eyes are still recovering! some seriously fast runs both ways despite technical issues.
Outstanding !
Cant believe I've only just seen this.Lovely capture, would have loved to be there,5*.
WOW!!! Enough said.....Tim.
Thank you good sir =) Blimey 95mph? Definitely the fastest thing I've ever caught on the mainline =)
what a superb sight, splendid vid, RSG going fantastic here, tina turner sang a song and im sure it was dedicated to the class 55 deltics, the songs called simply the best and this vid shows it, remarkeble loco, thanks m8
In my POV , think the deltics are one of the greatest locos ever made side by side with HENSCHEL , Amtrack , ADtranz and ALSTOM .
Just come across this whilst looking for some stuff at speed through Taunton. Great stuff again!
it was amazing, the old girl's still got it!
Everyone loves a Deltic.
Amazing speed.
Doing what it was built to do. Superb vid.
Bet that was quite the experience =P Thanks for watching & commenting =)

Thank you =)
Thank you Roger =D
It sure was an awesome sight =) Thanks for watching & commenting mate =)
Cheers Sam =) Wasn't expecting to get a horn like that with the Doppler effect and all.
Classic !
Awesome! Nice horn action too
Awesome video, RSG was impressive speeding through there :)
Yep 95. Me and two colleagues were timing together. Three GPS's all with good signal and a watch all agreed. We were expecting 100mph but were having coolant issues on No 2 power unit- we'd come part way from PZ on one engine. The outward run had been wonderful, cruising for a while at 100 on the level then passing Taunton (uphill this time!) at 95mph. We'd cleared Whiteball at 68 and kept full power on to near Cullompton which had given us a max of 103mph. 515 ton train and one amazing loco.
Absolutely flying through there! What's the permissible linespeed?
she was epic!
yeah, great capture but she was amazing to travel behind, as always! my ex joined the 100 club!
Thank you, she certainly was. Thanks for subscribing btw =)
love this all the way, a deltic going nearly full whack
You're welcome :)
She thought she was back on the ECML in the good old days
