This Monster Fish Tank will be home to some goldfish or koi, but first, let's spend the day picking it up, digging, and dropping it in the ground. This was a monumental task, and this is by far the largest aquarium tank i've ever owned.

Very very cool project. That looks like a ton of work but well worth it. You have so many stocking options but something that I'm going to try outside this winter is Odessa Barbs. I got 8 juveniles from Greg Sage earlier this year and they have produced a lot of fry for me inside so I plan on putting some of them in my 110gal outdoor stock tank this winter. Unfortunately mine isn't in the ground so I'll have to get a couple 500w heaters but I think it will work just fine here in Virginia. Thank you for sharing and as always do what you do if it works for you.

Nice job... from someone who knows exactly how hard all that digging is. Oh, didn't see your comment about suggestions... um... how cold will it get? Any heating at all - say to keep it above 50 F or something like that? I think the Gymnogeophagus from Southern Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay would be interesting. I wonder if there are any interesting hillstream loaches that can go below 60? And there is a ton of natives...

You could do a passive heat exchange greenhouse to pool. Zig zag black tubeing in the greenhouse when water in the turning heats up gets hot with pond water passing through it have a thermostat turn on a very small pump to flow that heated water to the pool, recirculate. Like a heat sink.... warming the pond extending your season. Been thinking on doing it myself.
