Where is the department of home affairs?!! The police have no right to do that themselves. Last time when this was happening it was during apartheid and our ancestors found it disgusting to be stopped at the middle of the road and asked to be handed their national identity but yet today we are doing it to foreign nationals, what name are we putting to the rest of the world as South Africans!!?? Who told you that? Department of Home Affairs and Justice presentvworkshops where police officers are trained. Home affairs also come to the police station after the areest to verify and even testify in court.
