These are located at a recently closed Outback Steakhouse in Hampton, Virginia. Oddly enough, the place was renovated not long before it closed and two of the original Minka Aire Sundowner ceiling fans were replaced with the Hampton Bay fans. I am not sure why only two were replaced.
I like the Minka Aire Sundowner. For the price, they are high performance and relatively well-built fans. They also come in an interesting variety of finishes. I like Minka Aire in general and the Sundowner is up there in terms of outdoor fans I suggest. These ones were installed in 2004, I believe.
I am not familiar with the Hampton Bay North Pond. In fact, this is the first time I have seen them in person. I do think they look nice and the performance metrics are average, which is acceptable given the price. I suppose time will tell about the quality and durability.
I did not see a switch for these fans. I would have tried to turn them on if I did.
