Another sawyer I know was once told by one of his customers " your just ruined a perfectly good slab to make a crappy board". I always think of that when I am opening a log, some times that extra small board is just not worth the effort. thanks for the video.

Seriously nice mill. The hydraulics make a world of difference. I'd really enjoy having one like that.

The brake band needs adjusting. Stop yur blade at the end of the cut. backing up with the blade going can sometimes end up with flicking it off and badly damaging the blade. When you sight your cut on a fresh side go up one or two inches and get some shorts out. You can make fillets out of them. All the best.

I love watching these Woodmizers at work! What part of Maine are you in? We have a place Down East in Washington County. I'm getting ready to post a video we shot a few weeks ago of a Wood Mizer slicing up some of our Bolivian Rosewood. The wood is really dense and that saw didn't flinch! :)

I'm in Litchfield, Kennebec County during the winter, and most of the summer I'm in Phillips, Franklin County. I'm retired and these video's are what I do in my spare time... smilz. I haven't tried to sell anything yet although the 37 acres I have in Phillips hasn't been cut in over 80 years. Lots of hardwoods and softwoods. I think the hardest I've sawn to date is Ash. I've still got a couple of video's worth of Ash here in Litchfield.... Thanks for Subscribing.... Jim

Boy, the hydraulics really make a difference! What squeals?

  • @udgrin2

The woodmizer actually has a brake that contacts the blade drive wheel. When the blade is disengaged, the brake goes on and makes the squeal. The noise is common on woodmizer. Next time I'm in the automotive store I'm going to get some spray to stop the squeal because it is annoying.....

Nice video! I just got the same mill this past summer and I just uploaded a video on the lessons learned with the LT35HD coming from an LT15GO. Take a look and let me know what you think if you have a minute.

I'm still using the standard blades that were included with the mill. I'm not high production so they've lasted quite awhile...
