In a way that's good because you don't want people being creepy if they aren't trained to not be a creeper, but at the same time OSINT is something that nearly everyone is able to do because the information is public, so shouldn't the tools to do it also be similarly available?

Bellingcat; a conglomerate of people engaging in OSINT, tracked and found the Russian spies responsible for a chemical weapon attack in the UK ( the Skripal poisoning case) and showed that Russia was complicit in the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight 17 (MH17) over Ukraine in 2014. You can also use it to predict geopolitical hotspots and likely events, competitive business intelligence, or opposition research in politics.
