@@dovakien5358 Not even close. The typical government salary is closer to $80,000. And that’s for federal workers. Provincial workers are even lower. You have to look at the median, not the average. Because the massive salaries of senior directors and other high skill and high salary workers skew the averages high. Provincial employees are appx $70,000. I’m a provincial employee and I basically make exactly $70,000.

Yeah. Yeah it really is. I got my elec and gas bill. I used $9 in gas and I was charged a total of just over $60 in all the fees and taxes. In Canada they can literally levy a tax on a tax. It's insane. It is my fondest wish that everything West of Ontario leaves Canada and creates our own country.

It might be counter-intuitive but history has shown the best way to increase tax revenue is to promote economic activity and investment, not the opposite which is increasing the tax rate. Example: the revenue of 10% tax on $1000 is more than 15% tax on $500. Reagan did exactly this.

Obviously their insanity and abuse will eventually mean that no one except an MP will be allowed to or able to afford to own a single family home. They are doing everything that they can to make sure that honest people will not be able to afford to keep a home. They will make it so that people will have to "share" their home or be taxed in to poverty. They will probably penalize people for not sharing their home by making sure they are taxed so high they will have no choice but to take in a renter or sell half of their property and still be taxed highly but a little less if you give up your home. This is an evil regime who uses "climate change" as an excuse to extort money out of Canadians every way possible plus they will say it helps with the homeless problem which they created with unlimited immigration. This is the most destructive, evil and corrupt regime on the planet.

I make 62k a year and paycheck to paycheck. Skipping meals and eating instant noodles only I managed only put 1k on food a gas per month. The rest of it all goes to bills, taxes, insurances, and mortgages.

Its a joke ! Most seniors have dentures & they refuse to pay for the cost of dentures (4-5 thousand dollars) So IF you have any of your own teeth, all you need is a cleaning once a year ! Woopy doo... A hundred dollars a year, and they brag ! Does nothing to help us with rent or groceries !

We are not ultra wealthy, just average middle class. We bought a little acreage in rural Alberta and built a small seasonal cabin on it over the years. This is our happy place and where we spend vacation time. The increase in capital gains inclusion will drastically affect what we realize when we have to sell to fund retirement. In my life as a Canadian, I have never seen a PM be so oblivious to the harm they have caused to their own country. Hearing the reality constantly being brought up, then belittled by the "leader of this country" is the most disheartening feeling as a younger person. At what point will he realize that Younger people don't see a future we are ever going to be able to afford? Nothing ever gets solved, until we are actually living in the solution.

what about the people who aren't "young"? People who are 40, 50, 60 plus who cannot afford to eat, buy a home or live? What about our struggling, poverty stricken seniors?

@@bentooreo9849 The majority f the healthcare funding comes from the federal government. It is downloaded to he provinces in the form of transfer payments. The real issue that the CHA hasn't been touched in years, so it hasn't really kept up with rising costs, etc.

I'm 46, born in Canada, my parents are born in Belfast Ireland. We are leaving the country this yea. I make low 6 figures and we can barely live a life thats not working and paying bills. Its terrible. I can only imagine what life is like for people in the 40-70k a year bracket. I was once a proud Canadian.
