That lift is so big you could live in it.
Great video... That how excited to watch this about is type of those lift motoring isn't! Good job mate! 😉👍
I somehow love the "Clonk" of the brakes.
wow that's a large ecodisc! I wonder how challenging it was for KONE to develop this system for that high a max capacity. That motor definitely sounds epic!

Totally awesome lift!
KONEs are so epic! There is almost no problem you can't solve with an EcoDisc!
There is a lift at my local shopping centre that can hold 4000KG Ecodisc of course, still a crazy amount it can hold!
I didn't know MRL lifts could be so big. How wide, roughly, is the motor for this one?
What's the best way to get in touch, I've found an underground navy store for sale, if you wanted to film it you could probably blag a viewing.
That's one massive lift.
That's a big lift! Very common in Ikea's. Sadly Ikea's in the netherlands use Orona lifts in their newer stores. Maybe the older MX10 4:1 0.5 m/s was still a bit more price competitive then the MX20 2:1 1.0 m/s? That must be the reason for it to exist, like it's a cost reduced version for when the capacity is more important then the speed.

In IKEA Duiven they use Shindler Generics, Not Orona. But it is not really a 'old' ikea.
Can you make a video talking about the dangers of entering lift shafts, what you look for etc also do all shalfs have space at the top so the operator won't die? or have you seen some where if you rode to the top you'd get hurt?
@tbbelevators3181

I’ve never surfed them before, and have no intent to. You need to know what your doing in shafts tho. And from watching people it seems like if you can duck lower than the rails on top of the car, you should be fine. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE, THIS IS JUST AN ASSUMPTION,
@Dime_Bar

I think falling down the shaft would be the main danger then getting fingers, hands and arms crushed, trapped and ripped off in things.

They have 3 of these at IKEA reading car park - they appear to have loads of issues with them as at least one of them is almost always out of service when I’ve visited. I wonder why they have so many issues with them?
This is as much as Ecodiscs MRLs can take I think. I've never seen an Ecodisc with a higher capacity that is MRL. The 5000kg Ecodisc MRLs I saw were of the older model from the mid 2000s, possibly using MX20 motors with a speed of 0.5m/s
Kone or Schindler? Not the lift but I like Schindler 2nd and Kone 1st
2 or 3 cars would fit in that elevator when it weighs 5000 kg
Sounds like you are obsessed with Ecodisc. And I like how you explained about how these works.

I wonder what motor the main Ecodiscs at Westfield White City/Shepherd’s bush have then. They all have loads of 2000kg (26 persons) but all go at least 1.6m/a (if not 2 or 2.5)

Especially with the newer VF drives. Kone do make the best MRL motors that still feel substantial compared to the minature jokes of the Gen2 and 5500.
We have monster ecodiscs in our IKEAs in Australia. Not as big as this though!!
Overload the lift with tungsten cubes placed next to each other to raise the floor of the lift. (You can use lead or tungsten carbide or just mild steel)
USA there’s nothing mentioned for larger that 2268 KG including their machine room ones. Anything bigger you need to commission I guess.
In Australia, we have 4000 kg 1.6 m/s EcoDisc's and 5000 kg Schindler EuroLifts
