Good job, my starter just quit in my 85 idi truck so I’m getting ready to order it. Thanks also for the trick to start the truck doing the jumper in the selenoid. Did not know that!!!👏👍👋

Brakes went out on my old 90 f250, turns out it was the rubber grommet holding the vacuum tube into the brake booster. It was cracked bad from dry rot and lost all vacuum. Its was scary, but i got to stop. Changed the grommet and what ya know. My brakes were back! Great video, keep us posted!

I’ve replaced a few starters and never done it before either. In my mind I was hoping that it was tacky enough to keep the starter in place while I got the bolts started. Not really a lubrication thing

Yes it has a clutch switch. So you will have to push the clutch pedal in.

My 84 6.9idi I don't use the clutch to turn my truck on I believe the trucks with the t19 didn't come with clutch switch or maybe got bypass. Plus he turn the truck on without pressing the clutch when he jumped the starter

I guess the group 31 post batteries worked. That’s all we ever bought for road tractors and they are cheaper or less expensive. Thanks for the info, I’ll measure first but good call.

How long did it sit and did you drain out the fuel tanks? I just bought a 97 f250 7.3 that sat for 2 years and debating draining fuel out of tanks. Started up just fine after a new starter.

Haven't drained the tanks yet but it seems to run fine on the old fuel. This truck definitely needs new fuel tanks though -- these are apparently rusty on the inside according to the previous owner
