Great idea...smart investment. I look at these trucks as the same as a dirt bike build it no matter the year. Saves you headaches in the long run with durability and maintenance of cost

Nice truck find , I found mine 1989 4 runner in a guys back yard nothing on the truck worked bought it for 800 dollars, now it is one of my daily drivers and I always get compliments on it. I put about 2000 dollars in it luv it will never sell it.

Darealpapac true, but in the second movie it was an 86. They had sold the original truck and had to get another built so the second one was not a solid axle. But yes. And 85 with the 22re would be awesome!

I used to own an 88 Toyota back about 20 years ago. Let me tell you that truck was awesome. No real power from the 22RE but it had enough to get me around. I regret selling it to this day.

You got a hell of a deal. Even if you sold parts off of it you'd come out ahead. Good luck to ya buddy!

I had that exact truck in blue. I bought it in 1989 for $8500 with 29k miles. I drove it for 10yrs. I sold it with 279k for $2400. I just recently bought a 1995 with 141k miles.

I’ve had a ‘79 & ‘83. I’d pay that every day for one in that condition. Great find.

Bought one just like this one in 2010 for $300. 260000+ miles and needed a clutch. 9 years later at 315000 she's purring like a kitten. A little TLC is needed.

The Way it drove At high Speed Scared Him,.. he was Like..heh..I gata Sell it. I put a Strait 6 in mine,.. 1973 258 AMC Javelin motor..kinda like a 4.0 but more Torque.. Always..rebuilding.. I can See Now Why Some rebuild These For fun.. Can't Count the Number of Times I put the 22r...motor..then the 3vze..then 4.2 258.. and.. Just Tinkering and Recent years Can Perfectly Weld now, though it's A stick Welder, got it for 50$ Looks kewl truck Man, Awesome!

FYI in the future you load a vehicle on trailer you should position it close to the tongue as possible... if you were to make an abrupt swerve you easily have flipped your truck

I look forward to you doing to this the same as you do RC's. Why not convert it to electric? I saw a city bus conversion on Jay Leno's Garage it was 1/4 the price of a new EV city bus. Use a Tesla battery pack for your battery, they are getting cheaper by the day. You could do a direct drive to the transfer case. Just remember to limit the torque as not to bust it. I saw a YT video where they did an ev conversion on a Ford Ranger in a weekend in Alaska of all places. I am a fan of your RC videos, but for the price of an RC I too would buy that truck. Good luck on the build!

Put a leaf spring Style straight axle front end under it you like it a lot better and you'll get Lyft out of it

Now try finding a running example for that price
