Now it has two Muslim states on opposing borders. Punjab and Punjabis are the only people who matter in Pakistan. The rest of the population are expected to serve their interests. Uncomfortable as it may be, but this has been the reality in Pakistan, particularly since 1958 when the self-styled "Field Marshal" Ayub Khan came to power.

You just woke up one fine morning to find that your area was included in a newly created country called Pakistan. You don't feel the pain of losing East Pakistan. Your army since, has not made any effort to redeem or avenge East Pakistan. You later generations remained indifferent to the surrender that you invoked to the eternal shame of Islam and Pakistan. Dhaka was surrounded by large rivers on all sides, yet Indian paratroopers entered Dhaka (from Tangier). Entire East Pakistan was divided by 136 rivers and rivulets, making large scale invasions impossible by enemy. You just needed to stay one more week or 10 days in all...before UNSC imposed cease fire would make India vacate the territory of East Pakistan.

ha ha ha really ? I am a bangladeshi and my family is a victim of pak armies atrocities at that time. We know very well how our muslim brothers treated us and treated our women. Even if pak army would remain stand still in dhaka for one month more the result would be the same. People hated pakistanis from their very core. In 1969 when a massive public uprising held in all over pakistan, and when shaikh mujib got majority vote in 1970s election, many bangalies still trusted pakistan.Because we are the black and short (the way our "muslim" brothers used to describe us) people of bangal raised "Ladka lange pakistan" slogan first. We were people opressed and exploited by hindu zaminders for more than 100 years, we knew what AZADI means, we knew from our very core what united India means. We trusted you, we joined pakistan, and then we saw 25th March 1971 the day our so called brothers started to kill us. And still today our brothers hail the army that was responsible for all of these atrocities. No guilt, no remorse nothing at all.

Bengali people were disillusioned from Pakistan through autocratic policies of successive regimes in west Pakistan and dismemberment of Pakistan had become inevitable. Anyway, we should learn lesson from history and mend our ways before we face another dismemberment.

Field Marshel Sam Maniksha: The Indian Army Chief who actually fought the 71 war and won. FM Maniksha, The Most Relevant and Authentic Source for 71 Episode, in his interview to Karan Thapar at BBC disclosed followings: 1. The Pak Army, in E/Pak, Fought Very Gallantly. But they had no chance. 2. They were Thousand Miles away from their base. 3. I had 8 or 9 months to make my preparations. 4. I almost had a superiority of almost 50 (or 15 due sound issue) to 1. They just had no chance. But they Fought Very Gallantly. 5. And for the first 5 days India was losing (Despite all odds). Ironically FM Maniksha, the most informed person of E/Pak, in his 23 minutes at BBC, praised the bravery of E/Pak Army, at least twice. Tareef woh jo dushman karey. Defending E/Pak for 13 days by E/Pak Army in these circumstances, is nothing less than a Miracle of the Modern Times.

This is fall of ISLAMABAD instead of Dhaka.

Only 60000 troops, rest police, civilian administrators. You have 600,000 troops in Kashmir to control 7 million civilians. Pakistan needed 5 mil troops to win BD war. One squadron of planes vs 10 squadron of IAF planes. It was no match. War was lost by the politicians before hostilities started.

Punjabi are not a fighting force. The Pakistan fighting forces are only two, Pashtoons and Baloch whom numbers were and are nominal in the armforces. In this interview all these so called retired invited generals and others are simply bullshiting, because they are publicly lying. If, they were really fighting forces including air force and Navy. Where were their all three arm forces in their west wing of Pakistan, which is the Pakistan of today?

If power was transferred to Mujeeb ur Rahman by the Pakistan Army, as required, then no war would have occurred. Mujeeb ur Rahman had won the election by a landslide. Bengalis were pushed to the limit by the discriminatory actions of West Pakistan.

Total Pakistani army was not more than 24000 soldiers and if you include civil defense then total army was not more than 34000 . Of course, Pakistani fought bravely against India army and Mukti Bahini. Even now Pakistani army is 5 times less than the Indian army but still have strong 💪 impact & threat on Indian’ Army. ( that’s a real truth )

Dhaka didn’t fall But Pakistan militarily and politically Both way fall down and surrender in Dhaka but Dhaka didn’t. Basically it was the rise of Dhaka. It was never a part of Pakistan but it waw a colony & burden of Pakistan. People of east bengal were treated as 3rd class people and slave of Pakistan. Colony can't be part of Pakistan. With hostile population, zero supplies, flooded enemy agitation and limited strength, Pak Army fought to their limits and no army of the world could have done better. Manekshaw on record admitted this openly. I salute the brave officers and men of Pak Army who sacrificed everything they had to keep Pakistan united 😭 And they DID NOT surrendered on their own - Gen Niazi included - they followed the orders conveyed to them by Islamabad.

Actually our forces were busy in rapes in 1971, they have learnt a lesson and will not repeat it. See balochistan there are no more rapes from army, so we can hold it , inshallah. Pakistan Zindabad.
