It’s live version of this is so beautiful you can really hear their voices and the Choi brothers epic harmonies

Turbulence will grow on you too. I would bet money. Especially if you see them do it live. The live vocals on this song (including Mingi and Hongjoong) are so impressive. We love to see Yunho stand out, and I think when this song came out it might have been the first time I realized how unique Yeosang’s voice was. Also, the person harmonizing withJongho’s crazy high notes at the end was San.

I’m a massive BTS fan but for me Ateez are definitely up there with them. Ateez are so unique and have a real talent for mixing music genres tastefully well. Turbulence is my absolute favourite song of theirs and I’m so glad you’ve reacted to it. The song is so beautiful and the video is so simple but beautifully done.

Ateez and BTS are so unapologetically them. I think that’s what really makes them so unique. And I love that Ateez has covered some BTS songs and add their own flare which is very hard since BTS really has some killer songs. I would love for them to collab one day 💜🏴‍☠️🫶🏿

I know you don't check lyrics, but if there's one songs that needs you to take a look at them to appreciate it to it's fullest, it's this one. They really gave us that song when we needed it the most. And as people mentionned, the band version is a must see, a treat to the ears. Turbulence and Be with you are my absolute favorite comfort songs.

Turbulence is absolutely in my top 3, it makes me emotional and feels so personal to me. Lyrics are a MUST.

what's cool is that the ending of "Not too late" is the intro of "Turbulence", the ending vocal melody of "Turbulence" is the intro melody of "Wave"

You should really check out the It’s Live version of this song. It really shows their vocals. JongHo and San harmonizing is such a vibe on this song. It is one of my favorite Ateez songs.

Before even watching this I am nervous and excited, because Turbulence is top 4 for me from their entire discography. The lyrics are so incredibly emotional, and the song is beautiful.

No other group consistently affects me like they do. Their lyricism is astonishing, then paired with all 8 voices.... Also Choi Bros Supremacy... when Jongho and San hit that harmony live....... damn

Ateez is so good even the #50 on your list is above every other song from every other group for me so I get how hard it is 😂. This is my song.. this song is so personal to me.. i heard the song when i was going through the same thing the song is about, and i remember i couldt stop crying for an hour, it was a hard time when i needed to make life decisions i found comfort in this song when i heard it and read the lyrics ..

Oh wow. Turbulence is in my top 3. In fact, it was my top song of 2021, and for a while it was my #1 Ateez track before they dropped Cyberpunk. Normally our taste is pretty close, so it surprises me that you ranked it so low. I think I mentioned before that this song should be appreciated from a lyrical perspective. It's so tragic and hopeful. On the chorus, Jongho sings, "I'm already overwhelmed, to be myself barely. Is anyone listening? Can't somebody just embrace me?" I think everyone can identify with that line in one way or another, and the desperation in his voice makes my eyes water every time I hear it. It's the worst kind of emotional gut punch, but on the last chorus, they change the lyric to, "This song to be engraved in my heart," almost as a reminder of the pain and struggle they endured coming from nothing. It's powerful stuff. Definitely some of their strongest lyrics. Since I've never actually listed them, my top Ateez tracks are: 1) Cyberpunk 2) Dune 3) Turbulence 4) Wake Up 5) Precious/Utopia (cannot chose one over the other, so it's the only tie of the discography) 6) Answer 7) New World 8) Halazia 9) Inception 10) This World 11) Take Me Home 12) Horizon 13) Outlaw 14) Mist 15) The Ring Obviously I have a strong bias towards darker music with a cinematic flair, so as much as I love songs like Wave, Illusion, Fireworks, and Deja Vu, they just don't resonate with me enough to make the top 15. Most of their early discography just isn't my speed. Treasure era has a few tracks that stand out, but it really wasn't until Fever and The World eras that hooked me because of the darker themes. Treasure is the embodiment of youthful nostalgia. Fever is emotional turmoil and finding one's path. And The World era is basically rebelling against the status quo and taking on injustices. I'm glad I started listening to Ateez in the middle of Fever era, because I might not have stuck with them through Treasure. I can go back and enjoy that era for what it was, but they hadn't finished sculpting their sound yet and were still experimenting with what worked and didn't. Fever was when they embraced the more cinematic production style, and then pushed that even further with The World era. I was actually disappointed with their last comeback because it departed from the tone of the era. I very much believed The World pt3 should've been the most supermassive cinematic Kpop album ever released, and the album we got instead should have been the launch of their next era. I didn't want sub units yet. I didn't like the mellow tone they gave us for the finale of their most bombastic era. I feel somehow cheated if I'm being completely honest. This was the first time since becoming atiny that I didn't buy the album. I didn't like a single track on it. I know it was in part because my expectations were miles away from what they delivered, but I'm not sorry for saying it was their worst release to date. And coming off the tail of their best release with The World pt2, I'm still a tad bit salty over it.

Not gonna lie, I'm surprised at how low this is, and I'd say that I think it will soar up with Wave when you listen a few ore times and when you get to re-ranking things. And not just because the ending chords of Turbulence reference Wave. As another viewer mentioned, there's an excellent live band version of the song, but the lyrics are just so complete, intense, and full for this song. It does my heart good to hear it, and in this one Jongho's high note just hits differently. Turbulence, for me, marked the end of an era of sound, and I felt like after this things changed in many different ways, so I'll be interested to see what you think as you get into the next few songs.

Color me shocked! I really thought you would have ranked Turbulence much, much higher. Turbulence tends to stick with you. I’ll be willing to bet that this one really moves up once you hear a few live performances of this song. Also, there is a drunk Ateez version of most of Turbulence! (Make sure at some point you watch Wanteez episodes 19 - 21! The Drunkteez episodes. Wanteez episodes can stand alone and Drunkteez spans 3 episodes that progressively get more chaotic.) 1.
