As a teen growing up in the 2000's I can confirm that I wore a lot of halter tops with my low rise jeans so these are spot on patterns and now my 39 year old self is off to make some of these. Thank you. X

I think with the fingerless gloves, you're spot on. Although, we also wore a bunch of arm warmers that just went up over the thumb, but didn't go up to the fingers. Those went up to about 2 inches from the elbow. Those were really comfy! For a bit there all my hoodies had holes cut for the thumb. I dunno, it was comfy.

Honestly, as an old lady who was alive for y2k fashion as a tween no one was wearing crochet or knit anything unless they were a certain wizard fan. It was very much in its "thats ugly and for grandmas" era. That being said this revival isnt a copy, its derivative, so make what makes you happy is more important
