$50 Project Car: 1988 Volvo 740 Rescue (Part 4)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It´s been a long time, but I'm finally back with another Volvo 740 video!
In this video the Volvo get's some new lowering springs.
I will also show some of the rust proofing. This was actually a very lenghty process, sorry for not including more of it, but with the limited time frame I just wanted the project to move forward.
Hope you enjoy the video guys!

As a long-time Volvo owner (P1800, 245, 960, XC70) who does all my own work, love the series! If it was me, even with a "budget" project, would have assumed the rubber spring cushions etc. needed replacement, and ordered them along with the springs... And washed out / relubed the strut bearings, while you had them out! Subscribed for more... Keep up the good work! -DC

Question? why not everything is covered in rust removed with a sandblaster and then put in matte black paint ? I once did it with my Renault 25 TXE sometime in the 90s, a good friend of mine once proposed and also carried it out, after work was done, the bottom looked and everything that had been slightly rusted was like new again. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it because my friend forgot to do it and at the time that didn't always happen to capture something with a camera, which I regret now, ha ha Still a very good job you have done so far!!

I guess you know your '88 740 GL was built entirely with Zincrometal (zinc coated steel). So, when doing any repairs to the body panels, floor pans, etc. you have to use products that are compatible to zinc coated steel. Btw, your dash has the exact same cracks that my '90 740 GL has. Go figure! lol
