Hello Gyani sir! Foreign people may hesitate in accepting the note because they may not sure about the exchange value of the currency note in the future. So a promissory note a negotiable instrument, everyone accepted .

Sir, your videos are very informative, and i have been seeing them for quite some time. Believe in you I have one rupees notes where all have dates on their dates on the back side on the coin printed from 1975 but u told first time it is in 2015

We don't have promised sentence on one rupees note because it is goverment liability and hence issued by the government of India while all other denominations are the promised notes issued by RBI.

Because One Rupee Note is printed by Govt of India not by RBI..

While all other notes have the RBI governor's signature, the Rs 1 note is signed by the finance secretary as a testimony that it is the base unit of the currency system and an “asset” of the government. Hence, the note does not say “I promise to pay the bearer”, unlike other notes.RBI as per section 24 of the RBI Act, 1934, is not empowered to issue bank note of denomination one rupee. Because one rupee note or coin is Indian currency and other notes are promissory notes.

One RS note is issued by govt of India and not by RBI.

From Rs 2 to Rs 2000 notes are issued by RBI with promise by the Governor. All these notes are guaranteed by Govt of India. Rs 1 notes are issued by Govt of India itself and there can not be any one to guarantee beyond Govt. I hope I have correctly understood this point. Thanks to all.

May be since the note size is smaller than the other notes or over the course of period one rupee was the least denomination so that could be the reason.

Pranam Gyaani ji, In our country, One rupee is the currency and it is a Government Liability. And hence it is issued by the Government Constitute. All other denominations are the promised notes, issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI, for short). Which means RBI promises to give the bearer the same amount of One rupee notes or coins in the equal denomination of their note.
