I'm surprised at the amount of people that seem ok with their dogs harassing kangaroos. Kangaroos can do a LOT of damage, and can also hold a dog underwater until it drowns.

And you really can't blame them when people allow their dogs to bully and injure animals that for the most part are just trying to live their lives.

When a kangaroo tries to hold on to you with his front little paws, that is to steady itself while it's hind legs, supported by it's massive tail, try to gut you. It's is not a friendly display at all. And Koalas can be very aggressive and those huge claws, usually used for climbing, are extremely sharp and dangerous. And just one more thing; feeding huge crocs from a boat only encourages them to attack other boats and people, it should be banned, if it isn't already. Stupid, greedy, tourist operators.

Sadly, people still have to learn to be respectful of animals. How the mother of the little boy didn’t make him keep his distance and just admire from a safe place is beyond me. Kangaroo’s and wallabies have powerful kicks and could have seriously hurt him.

When I was 13 my family took a trip down to Perth, Australia. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the people are just super friendly.HOWEVER, on our 2nd night there, I went into the closet of the room my sister was staying in. There was a shelf on the top with some blankets and when I went grab one of the blankets, a huntsman spider went crawling out from behind the blanket and scurried sideways on the wall and down, and came within a foot of where I was standing. To say I freaked out and screamed is an understatement. I’m not sure how loud I screamed, but the shocked literally made me collapse and pass out. My sister ran and grabbed my parents and they found me in a paralyzed state, hunched over on the ground. My dad saw the spider, freaked out himself, but kept composer enough to totally beat the living shit out of it with a broom. Needless to say, it was the most scared I’ve ever been in my life, and was the root that gave me full blown arachnophobia. To this day, living in Colorado, even if there is just a tiny spider in the house, I can feel those emotions start to flare up. I feel that experience gave some type of PTSD to this day.

3:18 magpies are not merciless if people feed them. Trying to scare them away just reinforces that you're the enemy they attacked you for. Feed them and they treat you as a source of food, then will protect you. This how they think. They aren't like dogs. I still get presents from a clan I was feeding in the late 90s. If I walk t the local park and others are getting swooped, the magpies will come to me, as if they're pets.

I think we can all agree that Australia has the weirdest, ugliest, strangest, most dangerous, cutest animals on the planet. And some of the stupidest tourists and foreigners who harasses them, gets too close, irritates and helps them. And the loose dogs? That shouldn't happen, owners may be at fault. We have tourists, citizens who get too close to the WILD buffalos in Yellowstone even after many warnings. A woman tried to put her toddler on the back of a Bear ! When the Ranger stopped her and explained, she reported him to his bosses. ❗❗ They agreed with him. Let's all try and help our fellow animals, not drive them crazy.

I'm thinking maybe the wildlife of Australia wouldn't be as deadly as is reported if people would stop getting all up in their business and provoking them. There are a lot of skunks, raccoons, and whitetail deer where I live and not once have I ever walked up to one and started aggravating them until they became aggressively defensive. I let them go their way and they let me go mine. They are highly unpredictable wild animals, after all. Stupid is as stupid does, I suppose.

The woman talking about dingos being ok, is the exact reason why people get attacked. He reason they're hanging around is because people have been feeding them. They then lose fear of humans, and have attacked many times before. Then once again they suffer, due to people unable to think outside their little box. They are not pets and are dangerous. I've had 3 experiences myself.

To be fair, you usually only see these animals in the outback or in rural areas. I’ve never seen a live snake, wild dingo or a frilled- neck lizard in our coastal village in Victoria, Australia, but a Joey once got lost in our backyard. I think it was looking for water and got separated from its mum. The wildlife officer was called and he was taken to the local reserve, where everyone presumed he came from. But mostly, if you leave the native fauna alone, they will leave you alone. You just have to be aware and don’t be stupid when you go for a walk in the bush.

Sure come visit. Our crocodiles have a particular liking for American and German tourists. I saved 4 Germans who were being stalked by a 14 foot croc as they played around in Ord River. They thought my waving was saying Hello. I was at a lookout point and saw it approaching from 60 metres away. By the time I jumped in the vehicle and made it to them, it was less and 15 metres away. Don't swim in environments that have warning signs already posted. There's another area just around the corner that has 3 big water release pipes. People are attracted because some large fish can be caught. It's also where larger crocs live.

It is a beautiful country, but you do need to respect the dangers that come with the animals and the outback. Visited friends in Perth, first thing they did was take us to an aquarium and zoo to see all the animals they have there that will casually kill you if you are unaware. I put my toes in the Indian Ocean, but my daughter learned to surf there. I want to go back and drive around the entire country now that I have friends on both the west and east coasts!

As I continue to watch this video, I realize there are dumb city folk doing stupid things with wild animals all over the world. No, golf courses aren't exactly 'all over the place' in our country and the roos in particular are thriving, even to the point of over breeding and frequently. I like animals too, but people generally speaking didn't ask to be born either, and I suggest you check here on youtube the disembowelment a roo *will* give you, often the attacks are just unprovoked. No matter how cute koalas look, they are still a wild animal unless they have been trained to accept close human contact. Even then, they still have wild instinct to demand space with no warning, they do the same to other koalas even in their own group, so humans are treated no different. Those that work closely with koalas and care for them in zoos and sanctuaries know the signs of individual koalas that need time out from public contact, or are showing signs of irritability. In those times the carers usually make a swift exit for the little fluffies to prevent an outburst. However, in the wild they are about as safe as getting close to any other wild animal; it's a chance you don't take without a big medical kit.

OK, bummer alert, sorry! Though an amazing and beautiful experience to interact with nature (I was a wildlife rehaber for a time) it is sad how we laugh and exploit animals at times, and allow our dogs to torment and attack them. It's a bummer with few realistic solutions... any ideas?

Yeah, euthanize all dogs, and drastically deplete the human species. Did I offend anyone? 😂

Shocking to see owners allowing their dogs to attack wildlife like that. It should be illegal for dog owners to loose control of their animal. It's videoed - they should be fined.

You would think some of this could be considered animal cruelty. You would also think the small child getting kicked by the kangaroo would be child abuse as adults are laughing. Really sad

Kangaroos grow much larger than wallabies - usually around 8 feet tall and weigh about 150 to 200 pounds

One of my cats hangs out with the kangaroos at night. I sit on the porch and watch them.

Big Red (the largest) gets to around 1.6 metres, which is around 5'3" tall, I have no idea where you got 8 foot from LOL There maybe some rare individuals that got to 6 foot (1.8 metres), but not 8. Tail can add at max another 1.2 meters in length (NOT height) they do rock back on the tail to allow kicking with their massive feet, but it doesn't increase their height much at all. Eastern Grey and Forrester's are slightly smaller.

I was a huge fan of 'Chippy, the bush kangaroo' when I was a kid in the 1960's. I loved it when the warden used to say 'G'day, Chip !'.
