50 lbs Seed Potatoes Might be Enough!

We're planting 50 lbs of seed potatoes again and hopefully we'll have a good harvest! Our back to Eden style garden helps keep in the moisture and eliminates the need for hilling. My little helpers helped me plant!

Taters are a realy good crop to build confidence. You almost can't do it wrong as long as you keep the roots covered and blocked from the sun. This year I am experimenting with planting fully sprouted taters vs unsprouted and ... pulling off a few sprouts and rooting them in potting soil a month or two before last frost indoors. I like the concept of planting out full grown potato starts will full top leaf growth just after last frost.

That sounds like a fun experiment! I planted some earlier with super long sprouts, over a foot long. And the potatoes were super tiny. They are looking amazing currently! Can't wait for new potatoes! Last years crop was awful. I planted 50 lbs of seed and ended with about 80 lbs. So many rotted in the ground.
