Look, nowadays people are evolving quickly, and I'm noticing most of them are taking the most of languages. In the future it'll be a generation of polyglots, consequently learning English and another language at the same time is the best of both worlds. In a binch, we at least try learning through social media and textbooks, the best of both worlds as well.

I need to improve my English everyday and I've found your tutorials very helpful for that purpose. These idioms from today's lesson are awesome, because in my job sometimes I have to say that I'm not familiarized with certain expressions. Way to go! Even that we may see the tip of the iceberg, rain or shine we have to put some effort in order to wrap our heads around her teachings. I noticed that Americans only take us serious if we stand out with phrasal verbs and expressions. So whenever we see our English going to the "textbook" mode, we have to nip it in the bud.

It has been suggested that the idom "Bite the bullet" is derived historically from the practice of having a patient clench a bullet in their teeth as a way to cope with the pain of a surgical procedure without anesthetic, though evidence for biting a bullet rather than a leather strap during surgery is sparse.

Hey, I just started watching your videos. I'm American but I like watching stuff like your content as a self-reflection type of experience and to think about things that I normally wouldn't consider on a daily basis. I loved this video, and all of the idioms you mentioned were right on point, but I also thought of a few others that might be helpful. Hopefully, I'm not crossing a line here. A few other animal-themed expressions: "To address the elephant in the room": used in a situation where you're in a group and there is an unspoken problem creating tension between at least two people. It's an obvious large issue that no one wants to discuss, so someone will eventually say "can we all please just address the elephant in the room?" as a way to try to talk about the problem and have it resolved so that things can go back to normal "I felt like a chicken with its head cut off" used when you have a lot of things to do but don't know what to do first or feel rushed to get everything done by a certain point. So if you're stressed out you might say out of frustration "I feel like a chicken with its head cut off" because you lack a sense of direction.
