    there were some good facts, but maybe stick to actual facts? there is no actual knowing what japan would have done, sure the soviets had a fleet, but japan also kept fighting till the bombs despite a clearly inferior army, its in in hindsight to mistake things for fact, was it the soviets that ended the pacific war? was it the atom bombs? or was it something else? or maybe it was all of them added up, had to leave a dislike cuz some of the facts i was seeing are not actual facts, just opinions masked as facts

    Cool Minecraft stuff Well no shit. I don’t think she literally meant destroying our planet, as in blowing up earth... However, if there was an all out Nuclear war between every Nuclear capable nation, then the atmosphere, and climate would be uninhabitable from the radiation, thus “destroying the planet”. Not to mention that detonating a Nuclear warhead on the Yellowstone National Park volcano has the potential of causing a very intense and long lasting Nuclear winter, which could also make the US, and maybe even other parts of the world uninhabitable.

  • @diante_the_chosen5616

    Cool Minecraft stuff Correct me if I’m wrong, but “contaminating the earth to high hell” so that no life can exist on it, is essentially the equivalent of destroying the planet isn’t it? Because if absolutely no life can exist due to man-made radioactive fallout, then how would we not be destroying the planet? You’re taking her too literal with her statement homie

  • @MissBlueEyeliner

    @MissBlueEyeliner

    Cool Minecraft stuff Agreed. The only thing that will end Earth is our sun dying or a black hole sucking us into literal oblivion. But my use of ‘our’ is like the “royal we”. We would destroy _our_ home. Leave it to the cockroach overlords I guess 🤷‍♀️

    It's entirely possible we have FAR stronger nuclear weapons. The issue with the Tsar Bomba was that it had to be deployed via parachute, and this capped its blast yield as otherwise the plane carrying it wouldn't be able to escape if they made it at twice the strength like they wanted. It's entirely possible that with the advancement of missile tech and computer simulations that we have missiles with yields in the 100s of Megatons.

Because people who have better things to do will usually sum up it to a simple typo or autocorrect rather than try to clown someone on the internet.... Just like a troll, or some virgin with too much time on their hands, would do. You may go now.

    Sadly, I feel that another nuclear attack is an inevitability. As long as these weapons exist, and with it becoming easier for more and more groups (nations or terror groups) to obtain or manufacture, it's going to happen. A full scale nuclear war isn't necessarily what will happen, but a nuclear terror attack or smaller regional nuclear war is becoming more and more likely.

    Fact 32 There was little to no fallout from the Hiroshima bomb. Except for the extensively documented Black Rain that was created from the condensation of water vapour on the highly radioactive bomb fragments high in the atmosphere that rained down on the unprotected bomb blast survivors, causing severe radiation sickness and death for most of them.

    One of the Goldsboro, NC bombs triggered all but one arming safeties and the other went so deep in the ground that safe recovery was was "uncertain". The solution to safeguard the 2nd live nuke was buy the patch of land containing the bomb so nobody accidentally plows into it, and build a concrete bunker over it. The "good enough" standard was awesome several decades ago.

    @wcatholic1 RE: "Makes me wonder what the explosive yield would have been had the majority (50% or greater) of the uranium had fissioned." M(t) = Total mass of U-235 in Little Boy = 64 kg M(f) = fissioning mass of U-235 in Little Boy = 1 kg M(c) = mass coverted into energy in Little Boy = 0.6 g = 0.0006 kg E(c) = energy yield of converted mass of Little Boy = 15 KT (kilotons) Ratio of Total Mass to Converted Mass M(t)/M(c) = 64 kg/0.0006 kg = 106,667 So, if the total mass had been converted into energy, the yield would have been . . . M(t)/M(c) x 15 KT = 106,667 x 15 KT = 1,600,000 KT M(t)/M(c) x 15 KT = 106,667 x 15 KT = 1,600 MT (megatons) M(t)/M(c) x 15 KT = 106,667 x 15 KT = 1.6 GT (gigatons) A purely fission weapon, however, cannot produce a yield of that magnitude because the fissile material would be dispersed before it could be converted into energy.
