    I found this quite easy to follow:Pinyin's c- initial is simply a "ts" sound. It's like the "ts" you hear in the English words "cats" and "Watson" and "robots".

    @@CCChineseTeacher Yes, I know. I can make the sound when by itself... I can't when it is part of a word, such as cài. Cài sounds a bit like "Thai" to me, like "Thai food."
