Google all involved. R. Kelly 1967, Jay-Z 1969, , Sean Combs 1969, Damon Dash 1971 were much older than Aaliyah 1979. She died in 2005 at 24 years old.

It’s not even about the age tho .. don’t you get it? It’s about The consent. Aaliyah was in love with Dash and she wanted him in her life. Not secretly married to her producer she never consented to. She wasn’t old enough to do so. Then when she could she got out and was able to choose who she wanted. And her denial to Jay was going to hurt her. Look at Maya. She rode back but took ten years.

The major issue is a 15 year old can’t consent. Per age and per her brain not even fully developed to make such a drastic decision. No idea where you got your defensiveness from.
