it really isnt, not sure if you are white but i visit the city often chicago has lots of tourism and every inch of the city not a warzone like foxnews want you to believe. Id say stay away from 44th-124th southbound even in between those there are beautiful black middle class areas you just have to know the know You will be fine in the loop(downtown) for the most part, Very nice places to visit north suburbs (evanston) its like a urban sprawl very diverse, lower in crime the purple line takes you there from the howard street station Wilmete-A affluent burb where the purple line also goes to Not really 100% sure about hispanic areas, i've driven through a few even some neighborhoods that are hostile to black peope but i know they get down and have their wars too its just not talked about in the media they focus on black crime

To be honest, I live in the city been here my whole life and like somebody said in the comments before my comment it been like this since the 90s. That ain’t nothing a year or two ago I remember 15 people got killed and 46 people got shot and that was in a weekend span from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning.
