    John Tome I think magnetic motors in general are not the best for bulk removal. They are however super quiet. The biggest difference on the 2nd generation 50 cal is the metal plate they added to the lever.

    I have been using wahl senior since it has been released and they are brilliant clippers. It will cut through any hair without any hassle. Calibre might have a longer battery life. But what is the point to have charging stand. Once you finished a haircut you put back on charge again. I would rather have a clipper with pure power which will cut any hair. Wahl been in the business over 100 years. Calibre has long way to prove themselves as they are new brand.

    Battery life is useful to know, because it's a good thing when mobile...but in the shop, I don't see why that would matter. Seniors are more powerful, it's not even close and now the Cordless Seniors notify you, when you have about 20 minutes of juice left. I suppose it's really a question of whether or not you want a clipper that opens up to a 1, or a clipper that opens up to a half. As far as chargers go, why aren't your wires going through your station and into the cubby, so that you can just easy grab it? Another thing, I don't know any barbers that work with clippers in singles, they all deal in doubles - my clipper says it's low, I swap to the other one. Rotary motors have more moving parts, which is why they break sooner....but they're much more powerful than magnetic motors because they have more torque, that's not up for debate. I'd say that functionally speaking, the only thing I like about the 50 Cal is the click lever. Functionali, the Cordless Senior is better but not by so much that I could dismiss the 50 Cal - It's moreso a "Horses for courses" kind of thing.

    The wahl senior last longer then 70 minutes I can cut like 3 or 4 heads and I take 40 minutes a cut. Plus if you have 2 it can last you the whole day. The babyliss pro fx says it last 2 hrs and you can only do like 2 cuts and it’s dead lol. Plus who would sacrifice speed for power!? You can’t even use that clipper as your only clipper. In my opinion you’re probably sponsored. Wahl has been making clippers for over 100 years and they’re reliable clippers with the best warranty.

    The battery life is for amateurs, not for a busy barber on a packed schedule. Wahl is embarrassing with the battery is packs. Wahl will last me half a day then die. They also lose power when near low. 50 Cal will last me 2-3 full days and maintain high power. Wahl is a joke and all you are paying for is the brand.

    Dorian Barber I have been cutting hair for 23 years. My opinion on the wahl is that they are a professional clipper. For one you need 2 of any cordless clipper. One charging one in use. Also if you have a accident or something happens to a liar you still have a backup. But even if I only had one pair I can still get a full days use of one charge because I use my andis pulse ZR do do most of my bulk work and some fading. But I really only use the wahl for fading and detail. But yeah if you only have one pair and use them to do a full haircut you can’t expect them to last. I’ve had mine since the second round when they where released and haven’t had any issues. I would be interested to know what all clippers you have at your station. 🤔🤷🏾‍♂️

It was either this product or the ANDIS MASTER CLIPPERS which are 50 to 80 dollars more but have a standard adapter for charging. I THINK YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION BY HOW HARD YOU THREW THAT CALIBER REPEATEDLY ON ITS STAND. I LIKE PRODUCTS WITH A CULT FOLLOWING. Either way you won’t miss your Senior. It has just poor battery life and the power distribution throughout the battery life mean the clipper is noticeably weaker after like 30 min of use. Caliber maintains higher power throughout its battery life and well, the battery life is the best I’ve used.

    Seniors battery is soo bad. It’s worse than magic clips. You gunna tell me a clipper with 70 min battery runtime is good? Also the motor gets weaker as the battery loses power. It’s not consistent. I’ll stick with my 50 Cal that has a constant power and 4 Hour battery.

  • @BobaDavis
    @BobaDavis2 жыл бұрын

Functionally, the Cordless Senior is better but not by so much that I could dismiss the 50 Cal - It's moreso a "Horses for courses" kind of thing.
