I love CD's. That's my preference. We are still getting you to Detroit Dan. Take care.

I like CD's as they are very convenient however vinyl sounds much better to me.

I've always been curious about C-melody saxes: do they still make them & who? or do you have to find a used one?

It would be interesting to see if SYOS would develop a C Melody mouthpiece. GetASax have one I think.

I have been thinking of getting a SYOS mouthpiece for my soprano sax as I need a more free blowing mouthpiece than the Selmer Super Session E and Concept I have. I don't play my soprano sax as much as I like as I find it harder to get some notes out cleanly and having a more free blowing mouthpiece would really help. I tried a custom one for my alto sax but it ended up being a bit too similar to my JodyJazz HR* to switch. I haven't bought a CD album in a very long time, but I'd be fine to buy one if you released an album on CD. While you can get better quality audio from streaming, I don't always like streaming as I don't always want to have to be online just to listen to music.

Give the Syos at try! I spent ages working with them on the soprano to get it just right. syos.co/en/products/soprano-signature-saxophone-mouthpiece-dan-forshaw

I have a hatred of online music. I pay for an internet/phone service, extra $$ to not get commercials, then can't download what I pay for correctly, and to top it off, I hear how the artist is getting nothing for the music they produced. Also, the download comes with no information about the artists, no artwork or photos that express the concept of the album, and typically, the song is totally stand-alone, without being put in context to the concept of the album the artist crafted. CDs please. Vinyl albums are still my thing because I am at the age I find myself yelling, "Get off my lawn!" But sadly, that format is all but gone.

Musicians should as a whole boycott streaming services until they provide a better royalty for each stream.

I've thought about this, and at times supported it. But surely the horse has bolted and the major labels are just going to swallow all the money anyway? As a promoter, I do look for streaming links as I don't always hold a great deal of trust in 2 short KZread videos.

@@DanForshaw artists are needing the “label” less and less as time goes on and at home recording improves in both quality and affordability. I know of multiple artists that have successfully left the rat race.
