I have owned mine for around 10 years Works great still. Only issue i came across was all of the fittings were loose and leaked fluid. After tightening, it worked just fine. I have split huge chunk's up to 4 ft also may I add it has a pretty quick piston speed.

This is what my husband need. Easier than manually split. We live in PA there is a lot of wood that needed to be split. Thank you for sharing. New friend here. Left you a gift 👉🔔☺️

Wow! The rail peeling off happened to my 25 ton I bought from Lowes. The rail bent outward and the ram wedge pushed it out away from the beam. By time I realized what happened and stopped the ram, the rail was very bent, pointing outwards from the beam, and frikin twisted the beam. The rail weld was a clean break, no weld penetration, and no rail metal missing from the weld pulling apart. The company is now out of business. Suks! Had it welded back together and still use it splitting oak.

I have the same splitter. Engine died after 6 years and approx 80 cord. Replaced with Harbor Freight cheap motor and keeps running. Wheel bearing seized, thank goodness it was not on the road. I rarely travel beyond the actual yard, and always trailer it when traveling to camp. This spring a wheel bearing froze. After taking off the hub, there was ZERO grease in the bearing. I'm appalled by the build/assembly quality. Always in the barn or with good tarp over the top when not in use. Purchased at Lowes. ps checking all bearings on the trailer this weekend!

I've had mine for 7 yrs. now and it's DEFINITELY been put to work...every year. No problems at all except this year it seems the cylinder is leaking a little bit. I may have to replace the gaskets/0 rings (not familiar with rebuilding the hydraulic cylinder). Hopefully I can get by until I finish the last cord I need to split. While researching the unit, it seems that Dirty Hands has gone out of business. I don't know if I will be able to find parts or a new cylinder for it.

I think these cylinders can be rebuilt regardless of brand. Find a company close to you that rebuilds cylinders and they can probably help with the parts you need or rebuild it for you. Usually a tractor or implement company may be able to help too. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

@@homegrowncountryhomeplace had the seal go out on mine. Not a common size. replacing engine with a predator tomorrow. Never loan it out again. if you leave the gas on while towing the crankcase will get lots of gas in it. Works well on tough oak cured or green. will pack the wheel bearings while im at it.

I have a 22 ton log splitter, Kohler 3000 series, I've had no problems with it, but this year I got it out and it will not start, I put a new plug in it, replaced the gas, but I can't get it to start, any ideas, I need to split wood before winter, thanks.

Hello Jeffrey, more than likely it could be carburetor needs clening. Take bowl off bottom of carburetor and clean with carb cleaner around the float seat and thru the jets. If you spray a little starting fluid or gas in carb. And it cranks and dies, than it probably a fuel problem. I have seen dirt dobbers stop mufflers up before with mud and cause problems too. Let me know what you figure out. Have a Blessed Day Friend. Justin

@@homegrowncountryhomeplace I removed the rod and took both front and back plates that contain the seals to a place in town called Bumper to Bumper. They deal with just about everything automotive and tractor. They measured every seal and ordered all. Cost me less than $60 for all. If like mine, there's a 1.5 inch nut on base of rod Dirty Hands spot welded on. Someone with careful grinding skills will need to cut through welds without damaging nut or threads too much (that wasn't me BTW) you won't want to put it back together over the hole, it will damage the new seals. If I knew how to give you my private email address here I would. I'd be happy to help you through it. I'm putting mine back together today. Oh, you don't have to remove the pipe attached to cylinder, just the hoses. Helps prevent damage to the pipe fittings. Make sure to have something soft for cylinder to come out onto when removing from barrel to prevent damage to rod or plates.
