Hard to say. 5 years olds have a lot of curious energy., particularly boys. Now that the days are longer, lot of kids play outside with only the guardians being maybe a sibling, cousin or family friend. Unfortunate though.

That's why i never let my kids play in the streets like that. It's not a playground and it's not your baby sitter.

The parents were irresponsible not the young driver.
Parents should know the whereabouts of their kids That driver will tremendously be affected by this. I wonfer if the parents will be charged for neglect.
RIP. I had a kid pop out from between cars, we were going slowly, thankfully slammed the brakes in time, it was too close.
I feel for the young driver, he was not at fault. But where was mommy and/or daddy? No excuses for not having full attention on a 5-year-old! Rest in Peace, Lil Guy.

spoke to several people who frequent the park daily...the boys, 5 and 8 went by themselves most of the time unless all these people are lying

Some people from the “pedestrians have right of way”crowd will try to blame the driver here but I’m certain the driver did absolutely nothing wrong based on the report. The parents or guardians of this child are 100% responsible. Drivers, Always drive with a dash cam, you never know who the hell will run in front of your car in this crazy city. RIP

I just watched another news channel and they said the kid was at park before without parents. So definitely neglect involved as well as driver recklessness. She was going over speed limit.

What the gentleman said in this video is 💯 correct, the city needs to put up more signs all around parks etc saying beware of children playing and speed bumps even on hills to avoid accidents like this happening 🙏🏽😔my condolences to the family…

If the kid is unsupervised and runs into the street he can be killed by a car going 15 mph. How much slower should they go? Those signs should also tell parents and guardians to watch their kids.
