5 Woodworking Projects That Sell - Low Cost High Profit - Make Money Woodworking (Episode 8)
Grow your woodworking business with "smalls"! This will be a two-part video as I go into deeper detail on making these items.
Often, smaller items are looked over by new builders looking to make a name for themselves because they are looking for "that one build" that they can sell for a ton of money. They aren't considering the cost of the build and the time spent making it. Ultimately any business comes down to profit margins. I'll give you a few examples of how selling items that anyone can afford can generate crazy sales with minimal cost of goods sold!
Sometimes we overthink things when the most profitable items we are looking past. Let's change that.

Matthew I ordered some patterns from your Etsy store and I’ve not seen confirmation on the order The money has been pulled Is there a way I can check on this order
I am currently in my second year of carpentry and I recently decided to start making small items out of wood to sell. This channel is perfect for what I'm trying to do!! I could definitely make all of these items and I can't wait to make some extra money, thank you so much!! Keep making these smalls videos please!
Thanks Matt although I’m not in the business to make money with my hobby , this old guy just bought your tree plans and I’ll give the finished projects to neighbors for Christmas. It’s nice to see a enterprising young man helping and guiding those who want to earn some money with your awesome budget builds, a new subscriber
Thanks for all you do to help people.I’ve made many of the Martin bird houses, selling at $100 a pc..made a coat rack for my guns.now I’m making kid swings singles and love seats.Wouldn’t be doing this without your encouragement. Thanks again Matthew.
Awesome as always! I will be adding that tree to my inventory for my next craft fair!
I agree with you 100% about selling smalls. My husband and I do crafts/smalls projects for our little side hustle. It really has helped out, especially during Christmas. I'm new to your channel and I'm so glad I found it. I enjoy woodworking projects.
Woo! Number 2. Workshop built. Starting tools and materials acquired. Watching video now. Ready to build. Lets go go go!
Love the videos. I’m a Nurse Practitioner just starting wood working. It’s great to see someone else in the Nursing field so successful with this hobby!
Love your suggestions gets my creative juices flowing. I re-watch your videos for inspiration and get me working. Would be cool to see a Smalls Super Seller Series. S4 Would love to see a series on that. Keep on keeping on.
Your channel is exactly what I was looking for and needed. And your productions are exceptional 👏 audio is clear and strong. Your information is to the point. Great camera and lighting. And thanks for all you put into these. Your delivery with all this information is professional yet friendly with not a second wasted. Well done sir 💯

I'm a new subscriber. The Christmas Tree is a cool idea! I've watched some of your past videos and enjoyed them. I don't make many of what you call "Smalls." I design and make whirligigs for the most part, mostly for fun. I also have been asked to repair and repaint a couple of old ones that friends had somebody make for them many years ago. You have good suggestions that really make sense. It is just a retirement hobby for me...I was an ironworker. I'll be watching! Enjoyed, take care!
loved all of these
Would love to see your take on a Christmas wooden sled using picket fences. Love your channel. Keep up the great work.
Wow they are pretty cool, I love them! Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Matthew - Thank you sooo much. I have been watching your videos and they are very inspiring. I have been a baker/cake decorator for the past 10 years but due to complications with MS I am unable to continue on that path. I stumbled upon your videos and I am so motivated to get started on something new. If God is willing and the creek don't rise I will have some of those boxes made by this time tomorrow.

Same boat here, Lisa! But Matthew's videos have inspired me to think & approach things differently. I started looking for scrap wood to reclaim with 1 or 2 decor ideas in mind for selling, really focused on just finding 1x6 scraps, & now I have countless ideas & have collected a whole lot of wood discards...and none of them so far are the 1x6s I wanted for the wall decor small signs I was (& still am) itching to make for easy sales! Lol 😅 I just wish I had a better set up (& space) for woodworking, & some more tools. *shrug* If I find I love this--& it makes decent money--I'll add appropriate tools as I go! Best of luck to you! 😊

Not sure what tools you have but kinda how I started was a harbor freight circular saw and drill. Pallets from work. Sell at flea markets. Pallets if you mess up it was free so no cost if you screw up. Skills grow and upgrade tools as money let's you. Only get tools you need them so the purchase is justified. Now I got a full line of dewalt. Thier some tools I want but havnt found the need for them and rather put the money back for a rainy day or something breaks.

Can I suggest that you just start making things? A hand saw and hammer (or drill and screw driver) is enough for many of these items. Seriously. Don't try to make the same thing only similar. Farmhouse, stressed or industrial styles don't need to be precise or perfectly straight nor do the pieces need to be the same thickness. Oh, and you need sand paper. Don't leave anything with potential splinters. You will be surprised.
Thanks for your time
This page has become my favorite page thank you for the great videos. It make’s me excited to keep doing wood work.
This is awesome! Thanks for your insight and talent!
I'd never get tired of fence picket ideas, cheap material, easy to work with, higher profit, what's not to love?

Thank you for the video, and the great detailed plan on etsy. I put a twist on ours. Made a family tree with photos. Once again thank you and merry Christmas.
Awesome bro
I like the way you do your videos 👏👏👏👏
One of these days, once I've built enough of my "smalls" to do a big launch, I'll change over to some fence pickets. I just have so many pallets and crates at my work....I can't help myself. I'm going to make like 100 of those Christmas tree things.
Fence pickets ROCK!

Good morning I am about to retire and I started doing woodworking ( wine racks, whiskey dispensers, bottle lamps etc) my son introduced me to your channel I love your ideas. Thanks for sharing you also favor a street race on street outlaws (murder nova driver Shawn Ellington) keep up the great service.
Love your "smalls" videos and I'm with ya on the gnomes. You were right about the wood trees and presents. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to make them but they were flying off another crafters shelves. I was so dishearteded to see he was underselling them for a mere $20 for the trees. Santa will need to bring me a miter saw to compete or I need to get creative and put my own spin on it as you are always suggesting. Thank you for the inspiration, can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Good stuff
hey dude. nice video. keep up the good work :)

Hi Michael and sorry for my bad English but I'm Italian.. let me say only one thing: all your works are WONDERFUL!!! And so amazing... I'll use your ideas for my Xmas... Thanx...
Excellent content Matthew, thanks! First time viewer here, and you earned my sub right away. Question for you that's probably been asked a thousand times already... Where are you selling your small projects? FB Marketplace/consignment? I'm guessing not through Etsy.
All great ideas. I especially love the Christmas Tree. And I have all kinds of scraps that I can use to make it rather than buy the fence pickets. Even though they are cheap... Free is even better. LOL. I do appreciate you providing the template to purchase. I'm sure I have something I could use. But I like this one. So I bought the plans. Thank you!
I love these ideas, I happened to get a bunch of 2x6 and 2x8 from Home Depot for free... they were throwing it away, they had cut it to 3 and 4 ft pieces. Currently looking for good projects to make with that.
Easy upgrade is putting lights on the christmas tree by drilling out some holes and poking the lights through the holes.
I am legit going to try all these. I have a hard time every year getting anything to sell but I’m going make all these and see if they sell

With the christmas tree you can use the wire brush on a grinder and give it a natural tree look. And paint it two different colors of green to look more realistic. Thats what i would do anyways. Love the videos mathew. Keep up the good work. I actually wait for you to come out with new videos.
