Offline Google Maps... AMAZING tip. I have been doing it for several years, because some places we visited recently did not have cell coverage.
Heading to Iceland at the end of this November and I plan on watching every single video of yours till then. Thanks for being such a great Iceland guru!

Wooohooo!! Happy to help!! Thank you for watching!!:)
Super helpful!😁
Option 5, in my opinion, is the best one! As long as you do not get lost by using a hard map or being able to access Google Maps normally, being without internet during the trip is the best thing to enjoy it (and still save money!), and access it only at the hotel or in restaurants.
We are going to Iceland on July, 2017 thanks a lot for all the tips!

Thank you 🙏🏾
What is cell service coverage on the Ring Road? I assume it is pretty good in the West, but how about the East and North?
Thank you very much. The important information before we arrive.
I ordered a Pokifi it supposed to work in Iceland, has anyone used it in Iceland before?
Hey Jennie, I just wanted to let you know how much we love your videos and have gotten so much information from them! I was wondering if the cell phone Simm card would be the best way to go for a week long trip? I do have a unlocked phone and would be able to use that type of service, also I was wondering what company to use and about how much would that be? We will be arriving Sunday morning and I'm just trying to tie up the loose ends. 😊 Thanks again, Courtney Duffy

Great idea! Trawire worked great for us - have a great time!
Hi from Texas, Jeannie! We will be traveling from your old home city soon and we have looked into Trawire for our trip. They have pickup and drop off at the airport so it doesn’t seem too difficult at all. The only thing is that for rentals less than 10 days you can only do the basic option and it doesn’t include a car charger. They said you can purchase a car charger at most any gas station but it has to be powerful/fast enough. Do you know if I will be able to find this easily and do you have any idea how much they run?

Hi! Not sure how much it would be but there are plenty of gas stations that would carry it. Have a great trip!
So nice video

Did Tawre go out of business?.. i’m from California and traveling to Iceland and I googled it can’t find the company anywhere?
I have a question. I am not a very experienced traveler so forgive me. So I understand once a person arrives at the Reykjavik airport you have to do the health verification and mobile phone verification at the airport, but if you plan to get a sims card once you get to Iceland, how do you do that with no internet connection? I understand Icelandic Air gives you sims card on the plane before landing, but I would be traveling American Airlines or possibly British Airways. Also I heard some of the sims card can take quite a long time to activate. So even if you are able to get the sims card at the airport your having to wait hours for it to activate so you can use it at the health and verification thingy. This is very confusing Any advice anyone?

@@IcelandwithaView Probably too late for Tony's trip... but, FWIW, I've found the following: maps.me is a great app for downloading offline maps - including terrain and topo layers (where available - terrain available in Iceland - topo apparently not as it tries to get it from USGS). If one is hiking, All Trails may also be very helpful - also allows downloading. As far as paper maps, I have a couple I'm planning on using in Iceland this summer - available on Amazon... the National Geographic one is promising as is the International Travel Maps one - the latter of which is also waterproof! ...I would be interested if you have any further suggestion. (I've also downloaded Google maps for Iceland).
Jeannie, I have an iPhone 6 and want to know if I changed out the Sim card, will my phone still work in Iceland?

Hello will be heading to Iceland 1st week of November! I’ve watched almost all of your videos and will be considering purchasing your guide. I will be renting a camper van does your guide explain where I can park to sleep? And also what company do I obtain a SIM card from? Thank you!!
