partial tear of pec major tendon by humerus insertion. 9 weeks post injury and still sloggiing my way through the Canadian healthcare system. paid for a private mri to try to speed things up, but now they have me waiting three weeks for an x-ray (can’t get one privately up here ) which apparently has nothing to do with imaging on a tendon. still haven’t been able to speak to anybody that knows anything about anything or what to do about it. It got better about the first month and since then it hasn’t gotten better no matter what I do to try to rehab it it feels like it’s about to pop off the bone every time I try to push it can bench press 65 pounds for reps and it hurts whereas before the injury I was doing repetitions about 275. it was a stupid jiu-jitsu injury where I did not warm up properly and was defending a moderate Armbar.

Hi man, the physiotherapist think I have a small tear in my chest, it's not visible to my eye and I don't remember ever tearing but I've been training hard so it's probably an overload tear. I can do push-ups but I feel the injury (burning sensation) during the exercise. You worked in rehab through some level of pain in push ups, pull ups , dips?.. I've had the injury for about 6 months now if not longer

I torn mine 7 months ago and since then I'm only 30% recovered my strength! For those who think that it will recover itself I wanna tell you this... NO IT WON'T RECOVER EVER! you need to do the surgery and after 1 year you'll be back to 💯 and same your strength! Pectoralis Major is really important and don't listen to all doctors that saying it's only cosmetics! No it's not! Since my injury my life changed to worst! It affects my life on all aspects! Specially when you working. I can feel my power is nothing close to half from what it is on my other side! This surgery costs quite a bit because they have to get some transplant from other part of your body to recconent your muscle with it original placement!

@@busimo 1st advise is: don't loft nothing for 1 month at minimum, 2nd advice is visit a doctor and get you an MRI scan to make sure that the doctor WILL tell you that you don't need a surgery! If you need do it ASAP because after 15 days you can't do nothing and you'll need to get some transplant from other part of your body which will make your recovery even longer! 3rd advice if you lucky enough and you don't need the surgery then just try after recovery do short range movements and go for rehab at rehab center because you need specialists around you to guide you through your rehabilitation! Once you did this you can start the gym at the 3rd month and take it slowly with very light weights! After 8 to 12 months you'll be back to your 💯... But with surgery you need 💯 12 months for sure if not more!... And remember don't visit just an orthopedic but visit an sport doctor because their are more into athletic stuff! Wish you all the best and fast recovery! 💯 🙏🏽

Tore mine about 1.5 weeks ago. If you have torn the tendon from the humerus you can tell because there will be no tension in the tendon, which you can clearly see once the swelling goes down a bit. You will also not be able to use your pec at all, like if you lie on your back you won’t even be able to lift your arm up. It’s actually easy to diagnose without a expensive mri.

It flexes super easily and everything just gets compressed straight to the middle of the chest on the left side. Then it looks like I have half a pec 😂😂. If i dont flex it looks 95% normal. Whatever. Im just now getting to 200 lbs bench press because i didnt ever wanna push it too much so i did more body weight excercises til now.
