Another great video Bruno. Very refreshing to watch and packed with valuable tips. Really good choice of music. Well done Audiio for sponsoring this video. Seems like you made the right choice by having a break from skateboarding videos and diving into the film making genre. Looking forward to the next one!

Fog vs haze Haze is usually used for softening up the image and more narrative and beauty type of stuff. Imagine a family sitting at a table having a romantic dinner (you wouldn't want a lot of dense fog, but just a slight haze to brighten up the candles would be perfect. Fog is denser for a more heavy effect where for example you would want light sources glowing or light beams! Popular in a lot of music videos or certain movies, imagine someone emerging from a dark area, shower shots or an ancient house where you want to exaggerate the natural light. The real question here is how do you do when your family complains about your smokey house? Does it just dissipate?

Thank you for this great video! I was wondering: can you put a macro filter on a macro lens as well? will this double/tripple the effect, or would you rather use a "normal" lens for it?

Great to see someone from the Netherlands as I don't see a lot filmmaker youtuber here. I've been here for a few years and completed my studies last year. I've purchased film equipment and am learning to use it gradually. I plan to start freelancing when I feel confident. I'm trying to meet people, but I haven't found a filmmaking or video production community nearby, as I live away from big cities.

Hey! I’m also living in the Netherlands (completing my bachelor’s at the moment) and I’ve been doing filmmaking a bit here and there but recently I got some film equipment since I wanted to take it more seriously (and hopefully make money later as well). I’m also trying to see if there’s any filmmaking communities around since I don’t really hear about it in Uni.

Yeah, same, I guess except in the UK and Germany, there wasn't much of a film community in Europe.. Even Film school is expensive in Europe. During my final year of my Arts Program I found two guys and decided to start video production works but both of them left, and since then, I haven't found anybody. Now whenever I have some time, I am trying to play with the film equipment to improve my skill.

Great hints - many years ago - - almost 30, now - I bought a small fog machine. Not for film making - but rather for a Halloween display - outside, as there was no way my wife would allow that in the house - FYI, at the time, the solution did leave a residue. So, outside we went - but the problem was the fog/smoke didn’t last long… even with the “thickest” optional fluid. A little research - BTW, this WAS prior to the interweb, so that took a bit of doing. Luckily I had friends with advanced degrees - literally nuclear scientists, who suggested a super chiller. This is getting long, so here’s now to get a great low-to-the-ground fog effect that can last for a long time… really - our neighbours at the time were freaked. Get an inexpensive ice chest - medium sized. Using a hole drill, drill through 2 opposite ends - about the diameter of the outlet from the fog machine. Use some kind of wire mesh [chicken wire] to fashion a tube that runs through the inside of the ice chest - a path for the fog to travel through the chest and out the other end - using an inline impeller fan works too. Fill the chest with ice - or better yet, dry ice… you’ll find the fog will be this as soup and last a long time - for those night shoots in graveyards… or what your creative minds come up with. Sorry, didn’t want to make this so long - but great ideas like yours, Bruno, need to be encouraged rather than criticized - so if I can help by amping it up a bit, hope that’s okay.

Yeah, they sell this in camera stores too. I never bought or used this but maybe there's cheap alternative ways to do this. Only downside is that you won't be able to use it as many times compared to having fluid and a machine.

I want to say something about the title and thumbnail since I discovered this video from your “KZread” one - as someone who has very little experience in filming and editing, the text and image doesn’t make sense. The “budget” is a dslr (? can’t exactly tell) implying it’s quite expensive, and the “movie effect” doesn’t look like “movie effect” to me (doesn’t seem particularly high quality or high budget, it just looks like an iPad sitting on a table with smoke?). If you want to contrast with this side-by-side view, the contrast is not coming through. Same with your Ironman thumbnail - the backgrounds are so busy (and high quality lol) on both sides, the contrast of “human” and “ai” is not coming through
