On the loop save, you can take off the sync so it won't catch the kick or the snare, you can catch what ever sound you like. Then use that sound as an instrument in the mix. Using FX, tempo change, the combinations are endless to a sound you're creating to use in your mix

Worth adding a trick to the mix -- lean into the tension that's been created by the supposed-trainwreck, and concurrently turn up Delay and a Hi-Pass Filter. Depending on the texture of the filter, it'll end up sounding like a warp-out, and let the listener settle into the new track.

I've done all of them at least once albeit sloppily on Pioneer DJ equipment but now I know how to eloquently do it on my prime 4🤷🏾‍♂️😆👌🏾🔥🤙🏾😜

Good video , There are many ways. old vinyl technique with the cross fader, you would create a Rhthym flow pattern on the Hi Hats with quick fades in tempo off beat , while adjusting the pitch by ear or move the platter so you can bring the mix back in very quick and seamless all the listener heard was a cool effect on the hi hats and the best thing is you can do this on any mixer this technique was popular in vinyl days of Hard House, UK Garage, Jungle , Happy Hardcore , to learn how to mix fast or adjust fast turn off master tempo get to know the pitch more by ear this gives you the vinyl mixing technique and can add bit of edge to a mix . 👍

You would still have to pull out of the mix.because the music would be out of phase and changing at different times.unless I’ve missed the point you’re making

Match up your kick drum beats. on current track start to ease off the bass. On the new track intro use no bass. Timing is important. On new track start to intro the bass while on the first track continue to fade out the bass. On the new track hopefully let the vocal come in like a background and fade it in. Continue to fade out track one and Fade in track two. You can sometimes end the fade out with a delay applied at the end. It takes time to master. Just have fun. Dont stress. You here mistakes from the name brand Dj's all the time. Just dont rush or force the mix. Also get a few Pieces of music handy that you can use for these situations. Sort of a go to. Good luck. I've been spinning since 79'. Vinyl. Mix by ear and feeling. BPM counters are not accurate.

I would love to see a freestyle mix. How to pick tracks on the fly, for example say I load a USB with random tracks in it and how to make the mix flow, plus a continuation of this tip. Lets say you just download some tracks on the fly, never heard of them before. How to take that set, and rock a crowd. As a DJ myself, I have been in that position more than many times, It would be really interesting to see how you handle that. Curious : )

My Tipps for mixing tracks you dont know: Use the Headphones and skip quick trough the track to check if it fits to your running track. if on cdj's: make use of key information and chose tracks that fit harmonically. learn to interpret the waveform and visually see what might happen in a track even if you never heard that track before. Timing is key - dance music mostly allways follow patterns (16 or 32 Bars before a major change) , mix in these patterns so you dont mess up these patterns and confuse the people on the dancefloor. So instead of starting the new track 12 Bars after the first track had his break, wait for the 16th Bar to finish. It's also okay to let a track mostly finish until you mix in the next track, if necessary and your tracks doesn't fit in key just wait until your first track plays it's last drum part until you mix in the other on. Most important: Stay calm and listen.

I do alot of harmonic mixing most of the times with tracks I don't know. I'll sometimes quickly listen through a track im planning on mixing next to make sure the mood is right for the moment. I also got to the point I can look at a waveform and tell myself I can skip parts of a n intro or go straight to the first verse of the song.

yeah, last thing you want is two clashing vocals. there is no real way to cover it up really. you could eq out the mid and high which will get rid of most of the vox, then switch basses as usual. it's going to sound "eh" though, so best to maybe set memory points where vocals start so you can see them and avoid them

@@P4boot I live in Perth, Australia. We are lucky to be one of the most isolated cities in the world and our government is very efficient with handling outbreaks. So have stayed basically covid free. As soon as there is 1 positive case we lockdown for a few days and squash it. So we have no restrictions and venues are open as normal and no masks. We are very lucky and venues are as busy as ever 🙏🏽☺️

Another crude one: have an air horn or explosion sample ready and really get that train crash feeling up to a new level - then start afresh with a cool tune
