Very nice demonstration 👍🤞 Kinda gives a whole other perspective of flat top or flathead , doesn't it 😂

I’d really love for you to dyno some tiny class d micro amps. Like the type commonly used in harley bagger audio. That’s a huge market right now and it would generate big view numbers as well as new subscribers. Keep bringing the dynos. I dig your videos

Thanks for the video! I am really stumped, your SIA amp shows a nice clean wave. My SIA-3500d & my SFB-2000 both show dirty noise right before clipping on my O-Scope. It looks like lighting bolts at the top & bottom of the wave. My DD1+ catches it luckily. I can reproduce it in 2 different cars with 2 different head units so it has to be the amps that produce the dirty sine wave before clipping. My Taramps & even Skar amps show clean all the way. I think it has something to do with the power supply switching these amps use according to Barevids.

I’ve had amps on my bench that do exactly what you’re saying. Enough distortion for the DD1 to pick up, but not enough to hear or cause a problem.

Very interesting 👌 I have an excelon HU as well and i set my gains on volume 28 and usually play at 26-27. Im not even sure what the max volume is on the HU.

The excelons are awesome! Usually 4v or more output.

Cool video!! One question. Could I use a old component passive crossover and hook a tweeter to it to achieve the same results? Trying to use what I have on hand. Thanks!

Thanks Jim! I think it’s possible. What size is the tweeter?

@@stereomojo It’s a old component Phoenix Gold 6.5” RSD passive crossover and matching tweeter. The set was rated at 60 watts RMS. The woofers are gone. But tweeters and crossovers are still good. Figured it would make for a good donor.

I adjusted my head unit and amp gains last night. I used a passive crossover and hooked up a old 4x6 coaxial to the tweeter output. It worked like a charm and was really easy. Found out that the voltage output with a multimeter at amplifier changes with different test tones. I ended up going with a 100hz having the highest voltage at amp speaker terminals with lowest gain setting before clipping. Thanks so much for the awesome video and giving me some cool ideas to try out!!!

Would you mind doing a video and showing us step-by-step exactly how to set up the small Ascope in the settings because I cannot figure out how to get my graph to match yours I want to follow you along in the video and I’m super frustrated I can’t find that information anywhere, just need a step-by-step how to set it up to test it like this.

@@stereomojo Thank you. We all end up searching for information and we only have about half of what we need to follow along. Love your channel. No one took the time to show how to get it set up before jumping right in to the video. There are a few but it’s frustrating because we buy the unit and we can’t figure out how to match what you’re doing. I have a 2019 BMW Motorcycle K1600 Grand America that I have upgraded the sound system. I have the factory stereo and two separate amps front and rear. It’s going to sound great but I need to prevent clipping. Thank you.

If you've been in car audio for a long time or just a audiophile you can hear clipping(especially in a sub) and if not, its time to get out, because everyone is not going to have a power acoustic tweeter at hand☺

yah that's what I've noticed too , I use a DD1 to get me in the ball park but I can stick my ear at the cone of the woofer when its moving free air and starting to make a different tone its also getting hot at the same time I notice it .

@@annihilationindustries1990 I've seen so many inexperienced kid's come in the shop claiming they're system is so loud that they've blown their sub's, until I take the sub out and show them that they didn't blow it, they just clipped the mess out of it, and burned the tensile lead up😁
