The small shields that go onto the pauldrons are called rondels, they are designed to protect the weak spot of the armor by the armpit. These were used mainly during jousting to provide more protection however they weren't limited only to that game. Period wise it was more costly to use such and thus a design of the armor to make the pauldron extend further over the chest to make up for weak spot in the armor.

Well rondels are specifically circular, and can go on really any part of the armor. These are tilt shields, also called an ecranche, which is specifically in a more angular & shield-like shape. I'm just being nitpicky, I know

For when (if ever) you get tired of the Mark III parts, you can get amazing alternative pauldrons, bodies and legs from the Sternguard, Vanguard and Blood Angels Assault Marine boxes (just remove the blood tears).

I actually was going to attempt Black Dragons a while ago but couldn't quite get a style I was happy with. Maybe I should try it again!

I'd like to propose a weird idea for the next conversion video, the Mantis Warriors chapter, not as known as the black templars but i'd love to see what someone as skilled as you could do with their unique theme

With a few modifications this could work wonderfully for Dark Angels as well.

I used the Chosen Ones to convert my Salamanders Bikers. They're now riding Nocturne Drakes and firing Plasma Rifles. Great Video btw!

Same I'm a guard player too however I'm thinking of starting a new black templar army for a bit of change and uniqueness.

The chains are insurance against blood ravens stealing your shit.

Can you do a minotaurs themed conversion video, I think they'd be quite unique with their greek looks and access to the armory and vaults of terra

Conversions are incredible fun, they give you a whole new dimension to work with when you're making miniatures. You can do a lot with painting but you can always do more with conversions!

I've tried it with the "ETB", which are too soft and too brittle at the same time. at several points parts simply chipped off. the gray stuff is better to process

what you've made here is an excelent dark angel :D Templars have tabards rather than robes

Can you do a paint tutorial for Black Templars based on how you painted them in this video. They look a lot different from your prior videos, almost airbrushed. It looks really good.

I know I'm late for the normal interactions for this video, but I think I just came up with a way to make stormcasts to look more.... marinesy. You just have to replace the stormcast shins with marine ones. Aside from artificer armors, most PA marks have big, bulky shins lower legs.

In fact BT crusader chains should be attached to a gauntlet with a pin, that is done locked onto the forearm with said pin.

I'd love to see you tackle blood angels sometime.

you should get some thinner glue for those chains.

Where did you exactly find the chain? I have been looking everywhere and have not been able to locate 1mm x 1.5mm chain anywhere. Also what brand of super glue are you using to glue and keep the chain in place?

Hey man I’ve got a hard one for ya! Give us a “5 ways to convert Noise Marines”

Can you make it for Blood Angels ?

The easiest way to do the transformation is several simple steps. First, find the Sargeant or chaplain of the battle brother to open the SM's room locker and to keep him busy. Second steal his blanket or chapter issued teddy bear. Third, find his vox music caster and glue it to the religious channels. Then tell the SM his room was raided by either A a codex compliant chapter you dislike, or by tzeentch. As he gets mad tell him the chapter got a fund together to pay for his camo paint in all black for a teddy bear night rescue raid. Voila rinse and repeat til you have Templars. Warning, repeated stealing of chapter approved teddy bears will lead to a formation of Angry Marines... no one wants an infestation of Angry Marines. This method is approved by Rogal Dornan for use on anyone up to Chapter Master level.

Gotta say, every time I watch you use a scalpel, my heart is in my mouth 😬😬😬

Try some third party bits such as Templars Space Knights Helmets from spellcrow and Prime Legionaries from Kromlech

I built a army of imperial guard, black templars and I know that it is strange...but inquisition. I need some tips for making primaries into black templars. The difficult thing are the shoulder pads, because primaries don't have the old style. My reserve from the upgrades is meanwhile finished. Will be fine to get some Inspirations. I too hat sigmarite Legs. But simply cutting them at the knee and adding Primaris Legs is an easy and expensive solution! (Just like GW likes it) I also think the Sigmarboibody works better for DAngels, since it's a Robe and Templars wear them Tabards

That's kind of what I was going for though. I feel that Primaris on their own are too "clean" for for the Black Templar aesthetic. Mixing in those "older" kits gives us something that stands out from their Imperial Fist progenitors.

Do a super-tactical conversion of Raptors Chapter! We need some tacticoolness in this grimdark universe!
