I could almost smell this video, Here is a fun fact, the lightning bugs at the beginning don't actually blink. The bugs are just bulbs on a thin wire with a bit of either cardboard or black plastic and a fan blows on them spinning them which makes them look like they are blinking when they spin.

Fun fact for you- My dad worked at Disneyland when I was a kid. Pirates- Jungle Cruise and on Treasure Island along with others. He was an Iron Worker and we had a "Jungle Gym" with original "bamboo" from the Jungle Cruise Good times.

My grandfather did also! He was in charge of the concrete in Matterhorn, submarine ride, Storybook, and the various Grand Canyon dioramas. Walt had asked him to go to Florida to help with those parks but Grandpa wanted to stay in Anaheim near the many family members.

The demon goat feels like one of those message board rumors from the mid 2000s. It would say like "when the ride opened the goat had a real gold necklace from the Caribbean that was said to be cursed. Cast members kept trying to steal it so they replaced them with replicas but the animatronic became a huge issue for maintainence for no apparent reason. People say the animation has changed since the replacement to stare at the boats with no explanation why." Something like that.

You have changed our lives. After 34 years of marriage we finally went to Paris and stayed in the Sequoia Lodge and had our dreams come true because you showed us how over a year ago. I’m unsure if you’ve mentioned it in the past, but one almost-forgotten fact is POTC used to have an extended queue that was repurposed for Indy (that long sloped hallway portion of the queue that has both directions of people flowing). Indy is basically the reason why the POTC line always spills out into New Orleans Square.

Yes I remember that queue. It was to the left of the building and they would open these backstage doors to extend the line.

The story of the Jungle Cruse and the mom with her son, I thought, wasn't to make a ride re-ridable, but to make Disney constantly changing to promote return-ability. Give guests something new. What Disney has been able to do is "give something new" while still keeping the park nostalgic. I hope that doesn't change.

About the "unwinable chess match". My recollection is that @Alexthehistorian, who was a former VIP tour guide, stated that it may have ori9ginally been but the cast often moves the pieces around so that the game is more random. I wetched his video years ago so I'm not sure anymore.

Hey there! I am going to visit Disneyland Resort in October for one day. Since my friend and I are planning on getting there via Uber, I was wondering what exact address should we use to be as close to the park entrance as possible?

The demon goat is the lie. If I recall, the demon was the pig? By the way, Chris I am a Cast Member of the Indiana Jones attraction. And I want to see if anyone can guess the lie in these 4: 1. Cast Members are to stop the ride and remove all guest from the ride if one of the Indiana Jones animatronics is not working. 2. There is a very large hidden Mickey on the wall in the video room that no one seems to notice. 3. There are 7 different ending quotes Indiana Jones will say to you after you escape the Boulder. 4. Cast Members refer to the giant snake as Fluffy. When the ride goes down, they will often tell guest the ride stop because Fluffy and Indiana got into a fist fight

It was the Demon Goat that was the lie on POTC. I never knew there was one of those on this ride before and thanks as always for showing/teaching me Teacher Chris!! This ride has some really amazing technology and effects on it that make it an instant classic. It's pretty sad Walt never got to experience it when it was done getting built.

I knew it was the *Demon Goat* but him staring at you is kind of freaky. Yes, *Dynamite Goat* on BTM is the best goat. BTW I am surprised you did mention that people across the way as start the ride are *real people.* Because when I was younger and rode POTC for the first time I always thought they were animatronics until much older and I finally ate at the *Blue Bayou.*

Did you know that when you're on Big Thunder Railroad and you're making the clime up where the goats are eating the dynamite, if you look to your left you can see a building in Black Spire Outpost. I find this odd since if you are in the old west a building from Batu would look like work from an alien.

Hi Chris. Demon goat is a lie (and I have read, don't remember where, that the chess unwinnable match it's not true). About the hotels near Disneyland, I stayed last April at the Holliday Inn & Suites at Walnut and it was a very pleasant surprise, one if the best options (believe, I have been guest at Disneyland Hotel, I also gave my wife the engagement ring in the Napa Valley at the Grand Californian, I've been to at least 12 hotels around the park, even in the Cosmic Age Hotel in the 70s just across the parking lot fence). Greetings from Mexico .. thanks for the memories.

You lie? I know at Magic Kingdom's PotC the chess pieces get moved around occasionally because of maintenance and cleaning. So the cleaning crew can some times put a chess piece randomly on any square on the board. So in theory the game can AND cannot be winnable the day after the scene has been cleaned.
