You also shouldn't carry around a hundred dollar bill. Get smaller change at the bank to be courteous to the sellers

@@lindsey9958 how would that defeat the purpose? Just use apple pay or paypal. The money will directly go to the seller. I'm not trying to be mean I'm just asking coz I'm curious.

Don’t think of it as haggling then. It’s negotiating. I would say for starters negotiate at least $5 off the asking price and then go from there.

@chocolatebunny3221

@@yukiandkanamekuran $20 negotiable to 15, 30 negotiable to 25 or 20 and so now. Your big money (50&100 and up) is going to take a little more effort. I believe the lowest you can get is about $15 off. At that price range, try to look for imperfections on the item and bring it to the sellers attention. However you don’t want to “low ball” the seller as it’s considered disrespectful. I shop on Mercari and I’m always looking at take a few dollars off the listing price.

Idk if you need to hear this but the seller doesnt care if you haggle or not as long as its of s decent price. Just make sure youre respectful and dont ask for too cheap.

And it doesn't hurt to show interest in the sellers other items by striking up a conversation about the hobby, era or something that you both seem to like, sometimes i have gotten a discount on expensive items because the seller knew how much i love this period piece or just that it should be with someone who shared the interest or having bough from this person before..Just be polite, charming and a little bit chatty..

Once I got gifts that were higher in price than the thing I actually bought just beacuse the seller (online one, never seen my face) liked me.
The flea market around me just sells dollar store quality toys, confederate flags, and whittled wood ducks 🥴

My local flea market has a lot of the same, except luckily the kooks that sell flags like that are always sitting alone in the blistering heat with no sales to brag about. There are a few good things though, I once found a Casio mt-100 keyboard and have discovered some local small businesses which is always great. It's hit and miss, usually miss,, but the hits are always worth it :)) Gl ♡

Flea markets in the USA seem to be a paradise of lost treasures and junks, but in Europe you're lucky to find anything useful whatsoever 😂

Sadly they took advantage of me :( like I was seven and I was buying a small plushie for my cousin and they had the audacity to charge me 3 times the price of the product. At the time I didn’t knew that they had scammed me until my mom and aunt scolded me and yelled at me for paying such price for a small plushie. The only good part was that my cousin was happy with the plushie but yeah some adults are jerks

@@everlastingfeelings Aww that’s horrible. I’m so sorry. Also shame on your mom and aunt for scolding you. You were a kid and didn’t know, you were trying to do something nice for your cousin which is sweet.

As a very young kid with a business, they treat you with more respect if you are or look smaller.
Also stay all day and return to the booth when they are about to start putting things away or are and you can get a nice deal. I have had times when they tell me 5 dollars and you can have it. End of the day deals can be nice and in my experience are initiated mostly by the seller because they remember you and your interest. Also it's a nice time to just make an last dich offer. I got two green glass oil lamps for $7 once and every glass chimney for a dollar.
These are great tips!
I accidentally haggle. I go into it expecting to pay full price but somehow they argue it down for me, especially if I examine something closely or look ay the imperfections. Maybe it’s too many years of shopping with my aunties as a kid lol

Tip: If there are no price tags on items then that may (not always) mean that the seller chooses the prices on the spot so make sure to check a lot of different things out and ask for the price of many different things, key is to not linger on the one item!
Cool tips! Jsut found your channel!💘
I’m still upset at the fact that I walked away from mushroom shaped lamps about 15 years ago. On the other hand I learned I’m really klutzy and probably would have broken them so it evens out
Great advice thank you...
I love those 50's lipstick holders/displays
I went to one and there was this old couple and they had beanie boo's ( during the time they were super popular) and they had some rare ones ( I have them saved in my closet) and the man sold me 2 for like 50 cents and his wife was mad at him but I didnt know they were rare till I got home bc I was young and I like plushies
In India, when we start to bargain with street sellers its usually the other way round. We start with 25% of ask 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best way to haggle is to ask for a price lower than your top dollar, so when they come down to meet your number they'll be within your range more often than not.
me, as a person, will not spend £10 on a bucket hat. I could either spend £4.40 on wool and crochet my own in a couple hours (im specifically looking for a black and white checkered one) and have enough wool left over to make other projects
I like the jewelry that mexican moms sell. Im always getting earrings lol
I like exact changes.
Why does nowhere near me sell this kind of stuff 😭😭😭
In India flea market is know as Sarojini market😝😝
Wow that place looks amazing!!

Watch out for pick pockets. Keep everything in a zipped bag that's in front of you like a fanny pack.
I spotted a rotary phone and I would’ve immediately snatched it up in a heartbeat🙌🙌🙌🙌

Asian bargaining skills✨
Number 3 should be always true, not only in flea markets, but in the entire economy, that's why big retailers can buy a lot of stuff at a discounted price. However, some people are not logical at all... recently I found something in the flea market, seller said 25, I can give it to you for 20... It had 5 pieces. I said - make me a good price for all 5. He said 100. I said... that's exactly the same price, no discount. He said - no. So...
Where is this place? It looks like so much fun, thanks for the advice :)

Me in the other side of the world: What is a flea market???? 😂
Amazing 👍🔥👏👏Great 👍 very clear from where to get these items .. wer is available?
The best tip is to take your kids and if you havnt any then borrow some and get your kids to moan alot and say they want the item that way you get it alot cheaper and you dont have to haggle, I realised that when my kids did actually moan for something so I obviously then had to try it, that was many moons ago as their all grown up now😱🤦🏼♀️🤣😆😂👍🏼
Where is that flea market located please?
In my country you start with reducing one entire zero from the price.. Guess my country
Ima sucker for skeleton keys
Bruh why flea market is this?! Finna fly their rn 🛫🤸🏻♀️🏃♀️

Seems very time consuming to go through endless piles of crap to find an occasional diamond
Don't ask for more than 25% off😂😂😂😂 You won't survive a day in Asia market 😂😂😂

First tip: don't wave $100 bills around at a flea market. Second tip: go to a thrift store run by a charity you support, and it's a win-win.

I’m Hispanic, we don’t have a budget. 2 , it’s a flea market, you HAVE to use cash 🫢 and 3, don’t use a hundred dollar bill 😐 get change. Most likely some vendors don’t have change for hundreds
