Not all the flights are the same. If it is an AIRBUS 350 don't bother. Wider seats in Premium Economy.

That’s not actually true. On the Airbus A350, the Upper Class seat is 20” wide and the Premium seat narrower at 18.5”. Premium seats on the Airbus A330 are wider at 21”. However the Upper Class seat on the A330 is wider still at 22”. The upshot is that Upper Class seats are wider than the Premium seats on the same aircraft type.

@@DoorsToAuto I’m glad you’ve said that, we recently booked upper on the A350! However wide the seat, if I have an opportunity to fly in upper, I’ll take that chance even with a narrower seat. Thanks for the info!

Enjoy! The seat on the A350 is very good, with lots of space around it. In fact, more space than other aircraft with wider seats.

One of the best tip you missed was ..... the Revival Lounge on return to Heathrow, ideal to recover from your red-eye flight.

Great information, thank you. Not flying until next year but didn't know you could pre order the main course. I don't have the option to select seats until November though. Although I'm staying at Heathrow the night before, I have been recommended to still get a taxi from Raddison to the Upper Class wing.

Airport Hotels usually have a shuttle that you book at reception. Park Hotel at Heathrow is my best choice as you can walk to the Three Magpies pub for great food and company.

We did that from the premier inn as it got us into the private check in and security as the time before we didn’t know this and queued for ages downstairs with all the Delta flights as well. (During Covid with all the extra checks). So recommend doing that.

I understand that Delta One passengers can also use that upper class entrance

Algorithm put this in my feed, and it was worthwhile.

I haven't flown Upper Class with virgin, BUT, I did watch a few vlogs from people who have and one tip is, is that you can actually have your girlfriend/fiancé/wife/boyfriend/husband to join you for dinner as well as when I was reading up on it, you can play cards whilst flying to your destination as a way of distracting yourself from the time.

I would not count on that ! All Business Class planes have a little stool at the end of your seat where a child could sit for a short time wobbling about !

The main tip is not all upper class flights are created equal. The A350-1000 and A330-300neo (I think that's the one) have amazing seats, and the others are kind of disappointing for the money. I booked a reward flight recently on the A350-1000 but the plane changed to a regular A330-300, kind of sad

This is definitely true. I’m thinking of making a video explaining the differences between the 4 different Upper Class products Virgin has on its aircraft.

I have seat 1K booked on the a350 but im worried about being close to the toilet. Ive heard 1k and 1a seats are slightly different as well. Do you know if the windows differ in position for each seat also?

how do you get a cheap upper class ticket?

Quick question: are the social spaces a good idea? Isn't there a danger of a couple of passengers having a few drinks at the bar, and getting rowdy, and keeping all the rest of Upper Class awake with loud chatter and laughter etc?

The crew are usually quite good at calming things down. Sometimes saying to a passenger that they can’t have another drink for a while. Ultimately I have seen the seat belt sign turned on for 20 minutes just to clear the bar…

No chance of that ! On my flight from Atlanta to Manchester last week the bar was closed and all the drinks removed at 9 PM and we were told "Return to Your Seats " !!

I fly tomorrow and cannot see how to preorder my meal. It is not on the app. Where should I be looking?

The lead passenger should have received an email with a link, it I think it’s also available in Manage May Booking up to 24 hours prior to departure.

Silly question this probably, but how do you get the car to the upper wing if you're staying at an airport hotel or from a connecting flight?? Everyone tells you to use the rear entrance, but nobody ever explains exactly how to get there..

You can arrive at the main terminal where there are Upper Class check-in desks. There’s an elevator right next to them which take you up to the Wing to go through the private security channel.

You just get your car to drop you off at the Upper Class wing. At the entrance barrier they’ll ask for your flight number and name, then let you in.

I had my dinner booking 3 days before Flying from Heathrow.

After flying from Atlanta to Manchester last Saturday on my 7th Virgin Upper Class flight, I have decided that night flights are not worth the money, and from now on I shall fly out to the USA Upper Class and back in Premium Economy. After the evening meal is served everyone, including the attendants is tired and wants to sleep. The bar was closed by 9 PM and talking to other passengers was frowned on. Not worth the £1100 more than PE.

Robert, you have discovered my secret. The flight from London to the US can be fully appreciated because, even though the full bed arrangement is available, you are almost always better off waiting to go to bed once you arrive in the US. Plus, I couldn't agree more about the service. Flight staff are people too, and they don't deliver the same amount of service overnight as the other flight times. I am using my miles next week to upgrade, and just the ability to use the private Upper Class level to check will make a difference, since I have a late arrival at JFK.

I have arrived 5hrs before hand previously. I wanted to really enjoy my time there. I was going with my wife who had never been to the lounge before so wanted to make the use of it before our flight.

Give yourself extra time to get through security. When I flew from LHR to JFK on Sunday, the line was long and slow. There was only one open security lane for Upper Class passengers.

First tip - don’t fly with the virtue signallers

Best tip is to avoid Virgin full stop. Poorly laid out business class, but worst of all, a non-dom non-tax paying CEO who think's he knows what's best for us in the UK. Virgin was AMAZING back in the 90's when it was competing for market share and actually cared about the service, the passengers and the end goal. Complacency and over-woke WEF agenda puts them well off my list now. A shame to see a great airline shoot itself in the foot but their choice.
