On the topic of ‘squeeking’ cams/pulleys, my bow after a while started creak when drawing it back. From what I could tell it was caused by loose cam bolts/screws and when I went to tighten them, they were clearly fairly loose. I’m not a veteran archer, but when hearing people put wd40 on their bow, it seems like a great way to make any serious problem with your bow even harder to notice before it ends up failing catastrophically.

Never hand draw a compound bow. There's a chance the string might roll over off the cam.

Most shooters are way over bowed. I am older, and the 60lb bow I had 40 years ago was the same speed as today’s 35-40lb bows. Nobody needs 70 or 80lb draw weight. As far as lube, the go to lube has always been Tri Flow.

When I was a kid I threw a dart in the Air and lost sight of it, it came back down and luckily stuck into my ankle, I say luckily because it could have been my head lol

The theory behind too much draw weight is" I'm not a man if I don't pull 70 lbs." It boils down to ego. Very seldom do you see a bow on craigslist for sell below 65 lbs.

Not sure it's all about ego,, I shoot a heavy bow because I like an arrow in the 550 range and would like around 285-295 fps out of it to keep a better trajectory in woods. I have and still shoot bows.in the 65lb range, I just don't enjoy them as much.

You speak like a true sportsmen w/ experience using your preferred tools to get the results you’re looking for, even your gentlemanly style of responding spoke to your maturity. Most heavy draw shooters aren’t you they saw JR’s 80lbs and thought challenge accepted.

You have to admit every once in a while it’s fun to just try and send a supersonic arrow down range. 🤷‍♂️

I put the weight up so my bow shoots like a rifle has nothing to do with my ego I love the sound and satisfaction of a 100m straight shot

Man idc about pulling a 70pound bow back. What compound bow can I get that is like 45 to 49 pounds or something. I got short arms.

They make a lot of bows in that draw weight but you will go up in weight quick if you shoot a lot. You might look for a universal bow like the diamond infinite edge.

If my bows 55lbs and I buy a 75 lbs I’m going to sky draw it till I’m comfortable with straight drawing it till iv built that muscle now it’s dangerous to sky draw if your using faulty equipment or have lesser brain cells and release the arrow but the sky draw is 100% safe as long as your release isn’t faulty and you know how to use it

Could not disagree with you more. Your logic is completely flawed. A good release, even one you're familiar with, can still fail. If it fails while you're pointed at Saturn, it's an accident waiting to happen
