    I can explain you, why the most Germans are so crazy for Spargel (Me not, I don't like it...) Spargel is more or less the favourite vegetable of Germans. And cause you cant buy or eat them the hole year like other vegetable (cucumber, carots etc...) it make's it very special. It is this short time of the year when you can eat your favorite vegetable you are waiting the hole year for :D

I asked a question in German at the airport and when the answer came back in German and I didn’t understand, the woman looked at me and said “Don’t do that!” I had to just laugh and agree with her. At that moment You can't find someone And in office work specially in Government offices. They don't help you or talk with you in English. Which is very bad experience you get when you there. I bet some of them can speak English. But they chat with you only in German to show you down they start using extra big words of German. They says everyone who wanna live here they have to speak German language. 🤬

    Hi... I'm a german guy, and I wanted to tell you this: when my english advanced class was in London for a one week vacation, we met two girls from the US and we had a long conversation with them. Basically, it was quite nice, but a few of the things they asked about us - in a serious way - just flabberghasted me, thinking sometimes how little some US americans seem to know (and think) of germany. There were questions like: "do you have electricity and/or running water in your houses?" - "Do you have medical care nearby? (she meant doctors and hostipals in a nearby city), and some other things I don't quite remember (It was in 1994, so some 25 years ago). Another thing that really shocked me - and honestly, pissed me off quite a lot - was the absolute convinced statement one of those girls made: "The BMW is an american car." And when I tried to explain to her that the abreviation BMW stands for "Bayrische Motoren Werke", which would translate to "Bavarian Motor Works", she was sure I would make fun of her. In a nutshell: don't piss off germans about their cars... :-D

    I want to say something about the "light beer". We Germans habe the Reinheitsgebot. That means there are just 4 ingredients. Water, barley, hop and yeast. All drinks with more than these 4 ingredients are beer mixes. And normally there are some names for these drinks like a Radler (Beer with "sprite" or something similar with a different Name). And thats kind of a light beer. Its sweeter and with les alcohol.

  • @Ramsa903

    @Ramsa903

    No that is not light beer. Light in light beer has nothing to do with alcohol per se. It means less calories like light coca cola and mixing beer with lemonade (what contains sugar) is not really low calorie.

While almost anyone in Germany thinks of a 'light beer' as one of LESS ALCOHOL. The first half was exactly what her comment was about.

    as a german myself i can confirm that in all other states than bavaria (where i live in) they could get really annoiyed by someone from abroad saying every german wears lederhosen. thats a tradition mainly located in bavaria. also the "light beer" i dont even think we have something like that. and i gotta know. germany is like the home of beer. and bavaria is its mother. XD the only thing comparable to that is the "radler" i think. it's like beer with less alcohol and with a bit of soda. and the asparagus.. i dont really like it myself bit its true. one day you go to sleep and the next they it's f*cking EVERYWHERE!!! like hooooow???! how can ppl build up those little huts so fast??! do they even sleep???? well that's it from me. i'm pretty sure other germans commented something too so you guys should really scroll a bit more through the comment section or you can just go on and watch another video or whatever. anyways. have a nice day! edit: i forgot to mention: football is very VERY important to many germans. so rather avoid to say something bad about it, making it even with something else or even say something bad about it.. many can get really angry...

One of the most annoying and grating comments she heard every time was 'why aren't people here wearing cowboy hats and boots?' So much that my mum said the first thing before starting the city tours, 'Every person in Dallas doesn't wear cowboy hats and boots. Just like every German doesn't wear the Lederhose and Dirndl. So don't ask me again about it!'

    ItIsMeMaybe I don't understand why people make fun of German and the way it sounds, it sounds fine to me... it's a little difficult for an Ausländer Like myself, but I quite like the way it sounds 🙂

    ItIsMeMaybe What annoys me even more, is, when Germans themselves hop on to that train and talk badly about our language, thinking that English is so much cooler. Especially when they can't speak neither of the two languages correctly.

    Making fun of our own culture, including our language, and the people who are living in our country is probably meant to be humuor, but I'm of the view that sometimes it's just annoying and of course making me mad when people act like a 12 year old child who is thinking it is supposed to be funny to make fun of other people's look, origins or the way they simply sound. As LaMiriabelle has written there, it is certainly true that those people are in fact not on the level to deal with their own language correctly but at least having found a way to escape their own issues.

    "Some Germans do wear Lederhosen ESPECIALLY in the state of Bavaria." I live in Bavaria and 99.99% of the people here do not wear Lederhosen. They prefer jeans. And not every German likes Spargel.

    Light beer exists in Germany. It has less alcohol. Also you can ask for a "Saures Radler" which ist half beer and half sparkling water instead of lemonade.
