5 Things To Look Out For When Buying an RSX

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

How's it going guys!! I hope you're all doing good and having a great week! I want to thank all 1,081 of you who have subscribed to my channel, your support truly motivates me to do these videos. There's a giveaway coming soon! In this video I go over the things I (personally/opinion) believe you should look out for when buying an RSX. I noticed that I went into more detail for manual RSX and not automatics, so if you have a question regarding that, let me know in the comments section. I'm sorry the video came out so long, I just wanted to make sure I went over everything I wanted to say.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!

    Bought a 2003 Type S brand new, traded it in for a new 2010 Camaro. It had 104,000 miles and never had any issues. Biggest mistake I ever made.

    I have a 4th gen Camaro and RSX Type S. Why not have both? They’re very different cars. But my RSX is the best car I’ve ever owned. Reliability, comfort, and fun for a daily driver. My Camaro is sick but I don’t like to drive it daily.

    One huge thing to look at for his leak in the tail light gaskets. Water will leak through and you’ll find water where the spare tire is. Very common problem specially with the 2002-2004 models.

    I have an 06, they are known for a/c failure, I just paid $1500 to fix mine, pay attention to the airbox if you don't do maintenance yourself, the screws strip easily so when you get an oil change, your air filter is not being changed and they charged you for it , I'm gonna get rid of mine

    Good points. The transmission issue seems to be one of the biggest ones in my experience. Also check any engine codes if the light is on. The car is very finicky about that. One little problem that doesn't even matter will make the car run like crap. I had a code for a cat converter because my car has a race header and it ran horrible until i did my little fix.

    I had the common Honda “dreaded 3rd gear issue,” 3rd gear will randomly grind, pop out, or hard to go in, RANDOMLY, on my otherwise lovely 06 RSX Type-s. I took a chance and used Royal Purple Gear oil. It shifted perfectly ever since, 10 yrs ago, and going strong. Cheap fix. The RSX is an addictive fun car with the right amount of upscale interior. It’s hard find a better car, even now, especially considering the light weight / power / handling / mpg / upscale interior factors.

    I've had mine for less than 6 months. I was already a broke college student when I bought it. Here's a list of shitty things that's happened. Bought in late June 2017: August 22 night before I left for college: Knock rod ($2500) for new engine October heating went out/no defroster for winter Today starter died on night before going home for winter break. Had to push it across street.

Power Styearling it is Honda Trouble Spot but you can Put 2001-2005 Honda Civic SI Hatchback (EP3) Electric Power Stearling and no more Problems and Transsmissions Yea im Agree but its all Depends on who has that car before you and how they Drove It and How they SWITCHED GEARS rest kits not really matter if you buying car that got all type of Aftermarket Parts you shoul already know that car was Racing , Pushed to the limit or just got beat up !!Q!! Seats Does go bad if you dont take care them but you always can go with Cloth seats or Aftermarket Seats like Bride or MoMo or any other Brands Name !!!!! New England sucks for these cars cause underneath there’s rust and holes I was lucky to find one with minor surface rust but unfortunately the engine wasn’t original it’s a K20a2 but it’s getting rebuilt and the trans had bad synchros which I replaced also but overall not bad for a $900 car my younger brother however is in the market but for him it’ll have to be a base auto found a clean one too 06 so hoping to nab it for him

    xGeekMenace-- RSXs in general are great cars, especially if they were taken care of by their previous owner. I personally don’t have any experience with automatic RSXs but if the price is right, go for it! I recommend however opting for a manual even if its base. You can have much more done to it in the future, if thats your thing. If you just want a point a to point b car, get the auto

    I just got a question, you know the odometers in the American cars, they measure in miles right ? And Australian cars measures in kilometres.. Anyways let me change the question a little.. how long does the engine of this model of Integra can last for ? I am going to check out a 2005 Type S today, it has 205000 km's -ish...

  • @leonelobbed

    @leonelobbed

    4 жыл бұрын

    2ndchanceinlife hey!! Yes I realize units of measure are different over there. To answer your questions, I’ve seen Integra completely stock engines with more than 300,000 miles on the odometer, thats over 480,000 kilometers. These engines can definitely take a beating, and there are always replacement parts readily available

    I have an 05 RSX Type S. The cosmetic difference between an 02-04 is pretty significant when compared to an 05-06. Also if you’re looking for a TypeS, 05-06 Type S had 10 more horsepower than 02-04 Type S and also had more aggressive final drives. 4.38 for 02-04 and 4.76 for 05-06

  • @leonelobbed

    @leonelobbed

    5 жыл бұрын

    Duck Hey!! My honest opinion would be to maybe try and take a friend that does know how to drive stick, a test drive is a very important part of buying a used car. As for the JDM transmission, that doesn’t necessarily mean that its a bad thing, just try to see the general condition of the car, ask the seller the time they’ve had the car, why they’re selling. If you’re really interested, and I mean if you’re really serious about it, try to ask the seller if he/she is willing to go to a mechanic shop and have them look under the car. This takes some time, so make sure you’re serious about buying the car! Good luck!
