I just launched my Etsy shop for my art business a few days ago because I have the summer to focus on making art. Despite it being summer, I find it hard to concentrate on making art consistently. But watching this video helped me regain some motivation to work on art again, since it’s a new (few years) dream of mine to have my own art business. Thank you :)

I was looking through art videos for how to get started as an artist online. I found all kinds of videos about people using AI and free images to make coloring books to sell. I was laughing at their foolishness because it seemed like they were taking the easy way out and this was understandable to me. Then I came across your video and watched it again. Then I remembered how some people don't give up on their dreams. I'm extremely grateful for your advice because it's realistic, honest, inspiring, and motivating. And this is exactly the advice I need to get started. 🙂

Trial and error can get expensive. Create, but research the business side of things early on. Love your art style.

I took that same Etsy class in preparation for opening my shop and I thought it was great (even though I ran a successful shop for over a decade on Etsy, its been closed for a few years and I know things have changed!). I appreciate your list of other helpful classes, I'm currently taking one by Sarah Edwards called Defeat Procrastination: Design Your Own Personalized Creative Workflow and I am REALLY enjoying it! I really struggle with art every single day and while I could make a million excuses, I need to just...do it. Even 5 minutes is better than zero minutes if I want to get better!

Please don't give up! Especially if you're younger because you will improve with time. Art is a lifelong dedication and learning process. It is likely that you will find your style, genre, and tribe in due time. Creatives don't just stop being that! Art calls to you and it's something that will likely never let you go. You will have regrets if you at least don't try and give it your best efforts. Much luck to you!
