    Amazing video. I was offered a pro contract right after my high school exams, and was contemplating whether or not to sign a pro contract in Romania or continue my studies in uni. I chose to go to uni to get my degree and playing tier 4 in England and get more game experiences. I’m still young, and have more time ahead. Especially in womens football pay is way less than men. This was a factor I had to consider. Going pro is all I longed for and wanted to do, but I guess the time isn’t now. Planning on going pro when I finish my degree at least I have that as a backup

    It's also probably one of the rare cases where the women's game offers more opportunities cus there's no way someone getting a contract in the men's game would have the opportunity to negate it, continue their education and still have a shot after. I would know :(

I was also working with an agent to make that possible, with all those factors definitely helped me a bit 🙏👍

    hey, I've been following you for a long time, in fact, you may have seen me commenting at some point, but getting directly to the point. I'm 17 years old, Portuguese, and like you, I'm a goalkeeper. At the moment I play for FC Alverca u19, (junior team) in the first national division, as a first year junior I haven't had much playing time (400 minutes to date) something that next year I intend to change and possibly be the starter. For young people here in Portugal, it is quite difficult to jump from the final year of junior football to senior football, many having to go to regional leagues where there are not many conditions, so a project came up that would lead me, possibly, with a good scholarship to The United States to play college football, this gave me the opportunity to play and study at the same time. I'm at the same time afraid of giving up everything here in Portugal, but at the same time I won't be able to get where I want when it comes to football if I stay here. Based on what you've experienced, do you think going to the USA is a good option?

    It was great hearing your experiences! 👍 But the part where your pay was withheld due to the team performing poorly was a jaw dropper, I'm assuming that is illegal? I guess they get away with it because the vast majority of players wont be able to afford to take it to court... please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just speculating. 🙂

  • @GKGOLUREMI

    @GKGOLUREMI

    5 ай бұрын

    Yeah, It's technically illegal. The contracts in the balkans generally aren't for a lot of money anyways so you would probably spend more in court just trying to get it back. Also, it would be a pretty easy way to get blackballed from other clubs in the area if they heard about you making a big deal about not getting paid by your previous club. It's just kind of an accepted thing in the balkans. They don't really pay you for your time they pay your for points.

    no way man there’s always time, set a standard for yourself and fulfill it. If you can surpass it, great, as long as it’s not taking too much energy out of you. If you give 110% in training every day, you’re just setting a new standard for yourself to the coaches who will then see it as underperforming when you don’t reach that standard. Work harder than your first goalkeeper and if you really want it, you’ll really work and you’ll become the first keeper. I believe in you.

    I don't call people out for not being Pro GKs. I call people out for claiming to be a Pro GK when they have never signed a pro contract. But these "gotcha" comments always amuse me because I have multiple videos going over every point of my career / including my lack of minutes when I've been under Pro Contracts. Anyone who really follows the channel already knows my playing background in Europe. Also, currently being out of contract is just something out of my control. I did a video over the summer going over how I had a pro contract offer in Europe but Croatia took too long to send me the paperwork I needed, and the transfer window closed. That's just the way it works out sometimes, especially when you don't have a EU Passport trying to play in Europe. Your ability isn't the only thing that matters.
