So many good points, I'm graduating from a 4 year concept art course and I learned more from you tube videos than my well paid teachers. When I'm drawing on my own I love it, when I get some boring and outdated assignment they teach just because it's the only way they know I feel my money going down the drain. Only go to art school if you feel the need to be evaluated and grades are important to you.

8:40 I can relate to that so much as a teacher. When I first started to teach I gave those kind of boring assignments that are not creative at all, and it's just highschool art class, so not all students wanted to be there. But I took a teaching workshop one summer, and it was about turning boring and mundane things into something interesting, and I took a while to reflect on helping the students to make the connection between practice and apply it to their artwork. It helped everyone so much.
